I don't think your truck will have better proportions after a chop. If you want to hammer it just so it looks modified, go for it, but you are not going to improve the profile or proportions.

Youd have to shorten the Bed about three feet if you chop that at all. If not, it would look like you put a motor on a open-wheel-flatbed 18ft trailer and called it a pickup.

I own one of these trucks and I don't think they look good chopped unless the wheelbase is shortend. The chop in junkcad's post makes the truck look longer than it is. My truck is on a 96 S10 Blazer frame that is 5" shorter than stock and I had thought about shortening the bed to correct it but the cab looked to tall. With a chop and the shorter wheelbase the truck would look in better porportion. Just my $.02

I say don't chop it... looks good just the way it is...

  10. I think those trucks look good without chopping.

  11. Few cars look better chopped, and I don't think this is one of them. This is a neat looking truck just the way it is.

I vote no chop - I had a '52 and I always thought they looked chopped from the factory with that small back window. Lowered yes - chopped no.

But hey- that's just my opinion! Later - Reece

not a very good pic, with the primer spot etc. but it's a local truck that is a 60's survivor. i'm dying to build a stude kustom, if i had the loot, i'd buy this one, it's for sale. my first car that never got anywhere, was a stude truck, had i known it could be this cool, i'd have gotten something done on it!

I say chop it. A good 3-4 inch chop will look good with out having to section or do any other major body mods.

The view makes it hard to see but the right stance with the front of the front fenders extended down and front bumper dropped along with a gravel shield is all it needs, also 70's ford pu tail lights set in about 3/8" with no trim! A buddy has one with STUDE formed into the tail gate as well! bitchin trucks...you could just sell it to me and not have the stress of all this!
