that is scratch's ride. He was at the American Racing booth, striping posters. Pretty coo.

There was a saturn at the entrance of the North hall, next to an older ford truck. Biggest turd. I'll get the video up. Overspray, and crappy glass work all over.

I think the fifth exhaust pipe is for the factory heat tube manifold that came on the olds 324, and i agree the caddy would be bitchin' with a wheel swap

  5. Who gives a shit how much time/money/effort went into something? Ugly is ugly.

  6. I kinda like that black roadster. It would look great with some steelies.

Unless there was some kind of traffic pileup that prevented exibitors from getting to Las Vegas, I find it hard to believe that those were the ugliest cars at SEMA. Wait a couple of months and watch Car Crazy. Barry Meguiar always seems to do features on really ugly cars. I think its an unwritten rule that guys with "passion" have to build really ugly vehicles.

Other than the wheels and maybe the grille treatment, I kinda did this one.

Most of those cars were parked outside. It's a whole lot harder to get selected to get inside the buildings. That Chevy II was part of a tribute to the Marines and our military servicemen, but I guess some people don't get it.

Dead wrong about the 67 Caddie. That car would look good in any paint or no paint.

Props to popular mechanixs though for acknowledging the fact that there is such a thing as an "ugly car".

i don't think it's fair to say that ALL "passionate" people are ignorant to beautiful/tasteful cars

i can't remember if it was a charger or 300c or what, but there was a flat black 2 door conversion of some car that had mud chiping away around the decklid and many other flaws... anybody catch that one? i couldn't believe it was inside the show...

WTF??? Popular Mechanics can't afford to get "in" the show??? all those cars were in public access areas...and that Caddy was bad ass. Although I hate import drag racing, complaining about the wrap on the car shows how much of an idiot the writer is...it's a "race" car (I know, I know...), not a SHOW car...

PS: many cars don't get "invited" into the show upon showing up. They get agreements to be in an exhibitors booth...

BTW: I didn't take any pics (cuz I was working), but my favorite abortion of the show was the "rat rod" Nissan (YES, Nissan) out front! Had a SBC, pro-stock hood, flat black, with all the red 50's pinstriping you could imagine...by far the most confused car I've run across...

Haha. I think that might be by buddy's old car.
He sold his Nova to that guy, he played RafterMan in Full metal jacket and is building those as marine tributes. there's a few of them floating around at shows and what not.

here's the website. I thought it was pretty cool...
