Anyone out ther using a Car Capsule

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rocket hot rod, Nov 9, 2007.

  1. Gotta store my Deuce in the garage this New York winter next to my wife's car that will be dragging in road salt and water. Any of you out there use these vinyl car capsules with these continuous airflow fans to keep it inflated. Do they work? Are they worth the $400.00?

Just this winter I need to keep it in my garage. After this year I could look at better storage.

I thought about one for the 55 for just that reason, but then I figured, what the hell, her car can sit outside with my truck and the 55 gets the garage all to itself. It's in there now til spring:D

I know a kustom builder who keeps his show stuff in bubbles.
Works good - barely has to dust it when he takes it out.

They're pretty neat! I'd get one if I had the dough...
I met a guy that had one big enough for a 1940's White Yellowstone tour bus...

    I've got one.
Had it for about 7 years.
If you use it in a dry humidified garage they are great.
One winter I stored a 65 Lemans convertible in one in our pole barn.
The fan on the bag ****s any humidity right into the bag.
    Not a good thing.

I have the one for outdoor use. It works great but the only drawback is that it does not stand up to snow. Light snowfall its ok but if you get a heavy wet snowfall it wont stay inflated. Usually a shake and it will dump the snow off.

I use a couple in a real dirty barn. I can leave the windows down and the cars are clean and ready to go when I want them. They cost almost nothing to run and in my opinion have been worth every dime of the purchase price. Good luck.

  9. Sounds like they work pretty good and is worth trying. Thanks to all who replied.

Another vote from a satisfied user.

Costs about the same as leaving a light on but spend the extra cash and buy the outdor version as it is more robust, and use it in the your garage.
