Is it the geographical location a rod is being built? what should it look like?

  4. The problem lies with having to ask what "style" is..............either you have the eye or you dont.

  8. Then show us instead of asking for validation.

I might add by the owner to his style statement. But I'm considered to be a little radical in my thinking.:D

What I have(don't have picture yet) is the body of a 28-29 ccpu front chopped 4" and removed top panel above windshied, that takes about 8" out of the doors, ford Fe engine, suicide mounted 37 drilled non-droped i beam, split bones, drum brakes and am in the process of building the frame out of Stainless steel. I Just can't decide if I should channel it or not?

still have to figure how to post pictures, I can't just copy and paste

I am all for building what you want. It's fine. Yes it's your car, Whether you're runnin Bias whites, drums and a generator. Or AC, radials, discs, Iron Crosses, tribal ****, whatever. That's for you. It is what it is, which may or may not be traditional.

I see a lot of guys out there who are new to hot rodding get offended when their idea of a cool car is not exactly embraced by the traditional community. And to those guys I would like to kindly say that it takes a certain amount of discipline to nail a traditional car. Taste and style that can be considered unique but still fall into traditional guidelines is hard to pull off, but when it is it's awesome. And that's what separates truly spectacular cars apart from the rest.

So good luck. Build a car for you. The number one rule is to have fun and enjoy what you're doing. Me? I choose to challenge myself and see if I have what it takes to produce a truly unique yet traditional rod. We'll see.

actually I don't care. You misunderstand my questions

My Father told me when I was young that you can learn something from everybody. Even from Somebody stupid. what not to do, or what small portion of an Idea you can help build upon.

Build the car you imagine in your head,... build it safe and exactly how you want it,... not what everybody else thinks,.. Trust me for every one person that says "Nice Car!" there will be at least a dozen people that say "If it were mine I would have,...." (there are thousands of these people at every event)

If your building a car for other peoples opinion's, or to be accepted by one group or another your doing it for the wrong reason, regardless of what anyone else thinks,... build YOUR car.

You've just set impossible standards for yourself. After this much time you can't build "truely unique" AND "traditional" in the same car. The second guy to build a hot rod might have been able to pull it off but the combinations have been too overused to pull off both today. I know I'm splitting hairs here so lets see how others that are REALLY in the know feel about it.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't try, and I hope you will, just soft peddle your goals or your in for some criticism.

THATS one thing I'm asking, what is traditional any more?

    Is traditional 1930's,40's,50's,60's,70's,80's or what?
