Time to let the world know, The little blue tub is resting comfortably in Oklahoma. This is the culmmination of a dialog that started at MOKAN in August. Saturday Morning 6:00 a.m. Terry Smith (Twisted Okie) and I headed out in dense fog , DIY Model A in tow, for a meeting in McCook Nebraska. Trent and brother Todd headed south with the T. After sliding through an intersection in the fog, having a trailer brake catch fire, and generally holding our breath for 400 miles we arrived. After greetings we got everything unloaded and loaded back and headed for a late lunch of pizza. Arrived home safe and sound about 11:00 p.m.. Decided to unload the car today in the daylight. Old guys have to get thier beauty sleep. Trent, thanks for workin' with me on the deal, I'll give the T a good home. Sounded like from talking to you that our future vision for the car was pretty similar. For now, Im just going to drive it and enjoy it. And hey, it's still in the family, right. Hope your trip back was as easy as ours, I'm sure you'll chime in here so again, thanks. GV Pic #1 6 A.M. Ready to roll Pic #2 Somewhere in Kansas Pic #3 Notice the big grin on the new owners mug Didn't get a pic of the smoke and fire, was too busy cooling off the trailer brake, disconecting the power to the brake controler, and determining if it was OK to continue. Drove home with the trailer lights hot wired to the winch battery.
thats great George! I'm one of a few thats known about this deal for a while....i was sworn to secrecy or the other vbonds would shave my head!!!! glad your trip went smoothly and looks like ya both are going ta have a hellofa lotta fun! i think the tub needs to head north sometime [may30th] or so!
Well, the trip home was..............eventfull! Almost had a van full of kids roll over in front of us on I80 and then the caveat..........was the car in front/beside us north of Alliance that took the ditch at 65, we saw air under that thing! Got offered some Wyoming tin as well from a hunter..35 5W. All in all a good trip, we hit the door at 9:30 last night.
Cool wondered when this was gonna finally happen. Will the swisscheese mobile get painted so it looks like a big piece of mouse food?
Glad you made it home safe and sound, thanks again for helping me through my mid-life-crisis. Zeke, I actually was toying with the idea of gluing a little mouse in one of the holes, just to see if anyone would get the joke. lol
The mouse idea is funny, carla wont think so after running one throught the washer and dryer this week tho! He was really fluffy after teh softener sheet!
Glad to see the deal went down, and the car stayed in the family. Have fun with your new rod. See you in May?
Yeee haw...... or something.... glad to see it has a good home.... I guess we'll see it at Mokan next year..
Taking a break from shop cleaning/unloading.............found some "jerky" stuck to the ratchet strap.........species unknown but it looks to be thrown up from the F250 tow vechile' DOH!
Couple more pics from the trade, out with the old in with the new: One hell of an entertaining trip, from the reaction of the locals, I think we were the biggest thing to happen to Alliance, NE this year. Now we just gotta figure out when we are going to get that 5 window!
Yeah, we got abducted by the local car guys in Alliance on our way down Saturday. Met some nice folk, even ended up talking mortgage business to a gent that is relocating up here..............hmmm, that means I can write off the trip!?!
The T and I went for a drive this afternoon, kind of getting to know each other. Love the car Trent. Looks good in the garage keeping the Poncho company.
well, i guess my pm to ya was a waist of time then george!!!! you just anwsered my question!!!! im just lookin out for ya..ya gotta watch those vbonds....ohh wait.....nevermind!
Well then, tried to call yer sell but it said you were working..............yeah right. By now you know she likes to be flogged and shifted manually. RPMs with that 425 HP cam are good. The solids should be checked soon. Look at www.348-409.com for specs. I will send some of that along with the CD and such..........did you still need these clamps? I will get a priority mail box and ship em back.
Yea, I was going to bring a box. I think that's all I forgot. If you could send them it would be fine but no hurry.
Brian, yes the A sedan is now mine. The Shovelhead has priority after the damn house...............finish work and outside stuff.............then we will get on the A.
Yes it is if we build tha car right..........but the Altered only needs a new welder and a couple tanks of gas...........then we can rock.
Really just going to stew on the A for a while. I want a clear plan when I get working on it. Searchiong for a 1980 Vinge Street Rodder that has an A I may clone.........we will see.
If I can find the pics you will see this is no Street Rod..........there were folks preaching the Gospell back then.
