Bobby - I did look for you and the girl with pink hair....maybe another time. For those of you who appreciated my pics - Thank You. It does take a lot of time and effort just to get them on here.
Pinky's learning to ride a motorcycle, so we were off in the distance for most of the time. We'll meet up sooner or later. Thanks for the pics. Rich, Yes, I got the tires. They are in great shape, Thanks !! They will be going on the front of a rear engine roadster. Hope to have her out by May. We'll see.
I believe that this is Jake's 1st car with a multi-carb engine. Thanks for sharing the pics; I agree some of those look like they could have been shot 50+ years ago !

This Lincoln (Look a Like) is a very famous engine. It did time in Gray Baskerville's 32 roadster that was orignally his and Ernie's (M-V Automotive Pasadena) partner Paul's in the 50's & 60's. When Jake had restored the Niekamp back in 69-71, he had a flatty in it. In the late seventies it started to expire and Gray told Jake that he'd give him the engine out of the Deuce if he'd put it in the Niekamp. Jake did and the 265 made it's new home in there for like 17yrs., so now it had been in two Hot Rods. When Jake re-restored the Niekamp to it's current & final (for now) guise with the column shifted Flatty instead of the floor shifted one that he had in there for nearly 27yrs, the engine & trans went into storage,(Multi Carbed intake and all). When he purchased Carl Johansens' 34 C-Dan he decided to personalize it a bit and threw the resting 265 in there, albeit with a few new tricks. Gray would be happy that the ol engine is still making the rounds powering Hot Rods.
Great shots, thanks for posting. Looks like a few of the shots had some photoshop editing done to them. Someone you didn't like in the pic?
I try and photoshop out all the modern cars and people and make the background look better ( a lot of time to do this).
Thanks for sharing your photos. I would love to hear more about the one owner '32. I hope some magazine (hint hint) picks up the story and does a feature on it. I always have the SCTA meets marked on my calendar as if I'm going to go or something. It is kind of running joke in my office. Someday though I'm gonna go!
Went out for my first time.......WHAT A BLAST. A hot rod show with sound and speed!! Got there Fri eve, left Sun AM when the winds started. Does anyone know if they ever got to run on Sun? Cant wait for May when they have their opener. Any one in the SOCAL area should put this event on their "LIST OF THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE" list. I will try to post some pics this evening.
El Mirage is a must do in your lifetime. These pics are only able to give you a small taste of the experience. Thanks for posting pics.
Yep, Roadster with motorcycle tires is from Pasadena-older gent in car was wearing a Pasadena Roadsters car club jacket.
