A friend has an early Halibrand quick change AKA Culver City. Its all mounted up in a complete ***embly (which I can't use,I have to pull it for mine).Anybody have an idea of "fair value".This is a deal between two friends and I'd rather stay friends than screw him on the deal.

Magnesium case or aluminum? I think mag is cooler, but alum seems to be worth more. I've seen nice ones go for over $2,000. Heck, I've seen just the Culver City rear covers go for north of $600. I'd think a complete rearend would have to be worth at least $2,500.

Now, if it's been cracked (even if it's now repaired), I would personally pay only 50%.

I paid $1000 for a complete C.C. center section that had a fine crack at the thinned area of the pinion gear bearing retained. Easily fixed by a pro welder. 2 cents
