here's my load of junk from Pleasanton swap...

the valve covers are early SBC M/T's. there are no punch outs for breathers or oil fill, just fins all the way across. they say 327 inside.

I got 5 complete front and rear seat 2-door seat cover sets. NOS. $35.00!! talk about butt ugly.. no wonder they went unsold back in the day.

48 chevy steering wheel, 48 trunk latch with excellent chrome,

49 52 chevy wagon or 47 -54 chevrolet suburban tail light mount. it swivels so you can drive with the tailgate down and still see the light

late 30's Chevy heater, 1947 chevy truck heater and a Tropic Air heater from the 40's or 50's

1942 motors manual and a couple of 60's chevy manuals

49-51 chevy accessory passenger side mirror

    64 (?) chevy 4 bbl air cleaner.

my buddy missed out on an original Ed Roth fiberglass metalflake German helmet. he had to go 3 aisles back to get his money, when he returned it had been sold

anybody else get some good junk??

That sucks but why would you walk around a swapmeet without your cash? How much did it sell for?

he was selling and left his cash at his spot and went to look around... big "woops" for him I guess... I think he said he was going to give 70 bucks for it.

not sure what those are worth.. but 70 bucks sounds like a fair price.. how often to they come up for sale??? not to often.

... I have at least 20 old heaters on my old heater shelf. I've restored 2 of them and got more for the 2 restored than I paid for the other 18.

Was a good swap meet, rain held off. I scored some parts for the '49's engine.

Picked up a Plasma Cutter too while down in P-Town. (thanks t Craigslist)

  13. I got there late and didn't find much of anything I really needed. I bought a new Clay Smith Mr. Horse Power sweat shirt because my old one is almost 15 years old
I was impressed with the amount of trash left at the end.

Did anyone get pictures of that metallic gold custom T roadster named "Exotica"? Built by an English guy.

The coolest thing I saw all day was someone in a P-51 Mustang (!) buzzing the hills over Danville and Alamo. Anyone else see him?

Why not go? No harm in looking. No sign that says "cash to enter" is there?

LOL No there isn't such a sign. But I still say why go if you don't have any money? It can only lead to disappointment if you see a screaming deal and don't have the money to buy it.

yeah, that has happened to me to. I remember going to swap meets when I didnt have 2 nickels to rub together just so I could get out of the house and "plan" for some day. I guess I was only moderately disappointed when something came up and I didnt have the cash. Just figured it was my lot in life and thats the way it goes.

I still enjoy them and like seeing the deals like above.

  18. I walked out with two Firestone 5.60s and bag full of stainless hardware in my arms.

Too bad it started raining, because a lot of stuff was covered under tarps before I got to see it.

I went to Pleasanton to sell stuff,sandpaper,metalflake,bondo,etc...Anyway it was early before 7:00 and I decided to walk around and I found that Helmet..Blue Metalflake early run Roth fiberglass deal...I told the guy I worked with Dennis and Darryl with the flake line and he didn't seem to care at all about any of that he just wanted the $$..I told him I had the money in my car and would he hold it..He said Yea then all of a sudden changed his mind ..I had like 12 dollar bills in my pocket..It took me 2 minutes and he sold it to this other guy..Thats Life..It was going to Darryls collection or perhaps it would have worked with the trike....I was asleep at the wheel and haven't been buying much lately except for the business...Also Pleasanton can be lean on good stuff..You never know....
