My brother is doing a disc brake conversion on his truck.

What would be a good master cylinder to use? This will be mounted in the stock location and manual.

And what would be a good rear axle? Something that would be about the right size without having to shorten?

Corvette dual circuit manual master. CPP has a kit, that looks good.

I've heard tell that an 80 blazer rear end would work well, but have not checked into it myself.

If you don't find an answer here, give the guys at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/ a shout. They know their stuff. I'm not a member there, but I read a lot of threads and they do know quite a bit.

If the front disc conversion uses 5 lug 4-3/4" chevy bolt pattern rotors, then a 71-81 camaro or 75-79 nova rearend is a good rearend choice.

early 70s chevy car or truck manual m/c should work, although it probably depends on what particular mounting bracket you get.

I have a '69 Chevy C-10 rearend under my truck. I had to weld on my own brackets, but its been pushing me down the road for months.

The vette m/c. I used some of a ccp kit on my '50 Chevy pu. They were top drawer.

    My computer is not broke.
Gas Huffer has a '73 Camaro under his '58/'59. That seems to be the closest match. I believe that rear is 62.50 inches wide and my stock rear is 62 inches.

Anybody know the size of a '70 Impala rear?

82 up camaro rearends are junk 7.5"...and quite different from 81-earlier.

I don't know if the spring perches are in the right place, but I do know they are quite different from the truck perches, so if it were me I'd cut them off and use the truck perches (which are only 2" wide). (also they are on the bottom instead of the top, ok for a flipped rear but not for the stock setup with the axle under the springs)

hit the www..chevytalk.com, www.stovebolt.com tons of build info on these sites. i have owned these TF trucks in stock, subframed, complete ch***is swap form and stock is for local driving, subframe swaps usually end up being good parts trucks and frame swaps as much work as they are have come of age. these days setting a body on a upgraded running gear seems like less man hours to me.
