Don't get me wrong - I love the cl***ified section as well as the rest of the HAMB, but is it just me or are other Hambers starting to get pissed off by looking at ads that read (33 three window) or (32 five window) only to find it's really an off brand and not a Ford that was hinted in the ad? I mean once I see these I don't even bother reading them just click and I'm outa there!. I think these ads would attract more potential buyers if they were not so misleading. Maybe there ARE guys out there looking for a channelled 32 Hudson coupe. Why waste my time? I don't know - maybe I'm way off base here, but it seems like a little honesty would go a long ways. The "price in the ad" kinda ticks me off too, because I can't afford to buy some super nice gold plated ride so I don't want to waste time reading those ads either. Put the price where it's supposed to be!Yeh, I know, I'll probably catch hell here, I'm not trying to be a snob - just letting you know how I feel about it.

No rubbin' ya' on this one, but when I saw the subject I was looking for a juicy story about how some a-hole chick screwed things all up for someone's automotive inspired life. Your rant is legitimate, but you're right. You probably will receive **** for it. :D

    Cheers

I'll second that to a degree. Some adds are too vague, and I think sometimes it gets them skipped over.

No,but some people are getting pissed off about
people complaining about the Hamb cl***ifieds.

If the worst problem you've got is incomplete descriptions
in a few online ads, life must be pretty good.

What did it cost you ? Less than 10 seconds per ad ? BFD.

I like a price for the item stated where it is supposed to be, not listed as "in the ad" if it is for a single item. I can understand if it is a multiple item sale... A 32 is a 32 no matter what make it is....It is misleading though... Jason.

Sooooo....a '32 Pontiac 3 window coupe should be called what?
I would guess that a '33 Studebaker 5 window coupe isnt really a 5 window coupe?
Maybe there is a Ford only HAMB somewhere for you(where everything is only $1)

Maybe you haven't been doing this as long as me but when someone says Three window around here he's talking about a Ford - same thing with Deuce - we've seen "Deuce" ads here that refered to some other type of car. Anyone who calls his 32 Roosevelt a Deuce is a wannabe and most people know it. A 32 Pontiac should be called exactly what it is - a Pontiac. Ever see a Studebaker called a firve window in an actual Studebaker ad. Model A Fords certainly don't need to be called five windows. Maybe a few seconds is not much time, but I find it annoying and you can't tell me the guy running that ad isn't doing it on purpose to try to get more views. More power to him I guess. The moderators have asked for the prices to be posted up front too. I can see if it's multiple parts - sure. These ads are great and I check them a couple of times a day. This is a gripe I've got and I'm making it known. If people are pissed it's because they're doing exactly what I'm saying.

I agree on the price thing cuz if I waste 10 seconds on 6 ads that 1 minute a day, over 6 hours a year, and more than 2.5 day for 10 years. I wish I were retired.

Fellas... I hear ya... but think about it. How in the hell can we really police that? It's not realistic... Sometimes ya gotta just take the good with the bad - ya know?

And remember, we are not and never will be a cl***ified site.

You could always be a good HAMB brother and send them a PM, politely guiding them in the right direction.

Honestly, these cl***ifieds ***** posts are getting old.

The people who need to see them have no interest in reading anything other than the own ads. That's what the problem is in the first place...

You could allways do away with the cl***ifieds. It would save me some money and make my wife happy. Then we can all go to e bay and spend more money there on what we need. so I guess that wouldn't work.

Moral of my story, live with it.

  17. I would think as "misleading" as you think they are, it actually serves better for the seller. Yea, if I read "duece 3 window", I'm thinking "cool a 1932 Ford", however, if I go look and it's something else and built well, I just might show an interest in it without it being a Ford. At that point, it was a marcketing ploy that served it's purpose.

Don't get me wrong. I love the cl***ifieds and "*****" was probably a little too strong - I just think guys should be a little more up front about what they're selling.
