pretty cool man, they are kinda hard to find in the states but when they are done up they look pretty good
i love it! i would like to see one with about a 3" chop, 1.5-2" section through the hood/above the door handle, maybe a 2" section through the fenders, and about 2" lower... i can see it in my head, but i would like to see a picture of one...
thanks for the input , most around here dont appreciate something different , wait till i finish my truck , rat style and running zoomie headers
I've had three of the 122s and they were a blast! That 544 roundback is a little smaller and lighter, probably even more fun to horse around. Once you learn the SU carbs everything else seems like needless complication.
Had a 1959 544 Sport when I belonged to Corvettes of Minnesota. Had a great time running road rallyes in it. I would buy another one if I had the room in the shop. Jim H
My first car was a '59 544, traded it for a '60 Austen Heally 3000 which I traded for a '57 Chevy tudor hardtop that I sold for $300. Those were the days. Yes, I'm old.......
There use to be one that came into the gas station I worked at in High School. It had a 283 and 4 speed. Haven't seen one for awhile. Awesome car for a straight axle conversion, radius wheelwells with w/w cheaters..............
guess upstate ny haseent caught on to the changes going on all over the counrty , my volvo was the first one ever at the adirondack nationals that is were the pict was taken , kind of nice to see it on their website with all hi dollar cars , and it was still in better shape than the batmobile they had there , you should have seen that car close up , and yes once you figure out the SU carbs they sure run nice , this car is great for speed shifting , ran one of my son's friend in his little honda from light to light , him bragging all the motor work and nitrious , and still beat his *** , good thing it was a short light , my son made 20.00 on that one
I think those PV544s were made from the late 40s-mid-60s without too many changes. Kinda like a Swedish VW without the NAZI background.
Actually 1958 and older they were 444 with a split windshield, bought one for $10 in 1967 without a head on it, bought a head for another $10, cheapest car I ever owned.
The one from -61 with the B 18 engine are in(un?)destructable, and yes, <<the SU's are not that hard to tune. Love those cars.
