    G'day Guys,

As per ***le I am another Aussie and my name is Rob.

Came across this site while researching a model A project that a good friend and I want to embark on, essentially a nostalgic Model A 5 window coupe.
We have been wanting to do something like this for awhile now but have only really become fueled when my mates Dad said he wanted to build a "rat rod" out of a Chevry 57 pickup (he has a 57 sedan also and is finishing his another 57 pickup for a work car), you should have heard his idea's.

Anyway we want to kick his **** and show him what a real hotrod is.

So far we have been doing alot of research and attending swap meets etc but are struggling to know where to begin searching for a car.
If there are any members, especially in Australia that could give us any words of advice to get the build rolling it would be very much appreciated. Also if there are any members in Melbourne that wouldn't mind us stopping around to check out their car that would be tops too.

    Cheers,

    Rob

welcome aboard plenty of good advice can be found here, there were 2 A coupes at Bendigo Swap today and another at Croydon the other week. Keep looking and you'll find what ya need.

    63Compact:
Yeah I was down at the Bendigo swap meet today, I didnt know what to expect but that wasnt it lol.
I saw a few tudors, one with ch***is, reasonable body + doors and fenders etc for $6000.

    That Monster Kid:
Your in Preston not too far away from me I am in Greensborough. Not that I could afford it (21 and still at uni) but I would feel a little strange about taking an angle grinder to an $18000.

    Dr Googles:
Nice build I read through your saga last night.
I'm not after anything real soon unless its an absolute bargin, if there is such a thing these days. So far I have just been trying to get to know the scene.

Cheers Guys, your making me feel most welcome.

Very true, I'd be nice not to see a cowl for $3000, I don't know what people are thinking!
Your sled, talking about your 53 chevy? Do you have a build thread somewhere?

ive recently picked up a 54 4 door as a donor car and a 50 something desoto (using the desoto grille and steering wheel) for 700 bones. so hopefully work will pick up on it again soon.
