Well I'm buying a Cad 346 for my '41 Diamod T and it's 800 miles away from me and guess who doesn't have a truck until i get this engine going Just wondering if there will be any Hambers travelling I-84 in the next couple months or so that might have room for a hunk-o-caddy to make it to either SLC or Boise. If to Boise, it'll have to be by Christmas since I have a friend that will be there (with a truck) for the holidays. I can offer booze, food and use of the shop I work at if needed as well as lodging and I'll be happy to pay for extra fuel expended dragging the engine down. Any help will be appreciated since I can't afford to pay the cost to ship it AND start building it. Thanks in advance guys, I'm also open to other alternative suggestions.
My son is scheduled to return from Iraq in Feb., I will be driving my toyota p/u with canopy from Western Wa., to Reno, east to Fallon, then south to Ft. Hood. I can relay it to Reno area. PM me if I can help. Exact date unknow at this time. Mark
cool, i'll keep that in mind. that's not quite the direction of travel i was hoping for but it's a totally acceptable way for it to go as well...hadn't thought of that do you think your toyota will be able to handle a caddy flathead though? those beasts are HEAVY
well i've worked out transportation from boise to slc, anybody willing to help get it from silverton to boise? i may be able to arrange for it to get somewhere inbetween/close by if needs be if someone isn't going by there but is going to boise and might have room. will compensate to the best of my resources...hell, i'll even offer some free carb services if someone can use them in payment for the help!
and again to the top...c'mon, someone's gotta be going between silverton and boise on I-84. it's pretty close to salem and portland. i'm not asking for a handout here people, i will compensate and or pay extra fuel cost.
