That is some phenominal work being done. I don't have the patience or focus to do that stuff.

    AMAZING

    wow amazing work.....

I also want to point out you must be clinically insane to work on something this small and make it look cool..... Do you also do pinhead paintings?

Hey Larry, good to see you on this forum.
Here's a custom with an Aussie flavour I did back in '03.
It is a Holden FJ coupe.

If you are looking for ideas for the '09 line of HW's,
why not build Holden's real version of the FJ coupe,
the concept car known as 'Efijy'.
No design work necessary, Holden have done the job for you.

Another good source for small models / die casts is HO railway suppliers. Walthers has a ton of them. You can subscribe to their news letter and get all the latest release info. They also have a m***ive catalog available.

Pretty basic but an improvement in my book......

Here's another angle, the one in the background was my first try before I decided to cut up $5 HW's just for the wheels and tires....

Wow, I'm not the only one! This whole time, all of my friends told me I was a tweaker for playing with Hot Wheels cars! Well, I still may be a tweaker, but I'm not alone!

Before and after. Lots of smoothing from the casting seams.

Not a rod, but a before and after. I did this for my friend fighting in Iraq. It's a copy of his real car. I sent it to him to cheer him up.

I just want to be on a thread with Larry Wood. :) I've customized some... mostly just swapping wheels and painting... but I've had fun wasting some evenings doing it...

How about 1/87th scale. I call it, "all the money is under the hood".

A few I use to own, before I sold my whole collection. These were done by Vince Mosley aka V-man. I still own Nomad/Black Widow set.

JB Quick (JB Weld) to stick body back together after you hack it apart, SuperGlue. Paint and primer is Auotmotive Paint (House of Kolor, PPG, etc.) just like the BIG TOYS
