as a 25th wedding anniversary present to my wife(and me i spose) i am taking my family to LA again and also to Las Vegas were we will renue our wedding vows at the elvis presley chapel.
may sound cheesy, but its something that i promised we would do when we had been together for the big 25.
our 2 sons( 20 and 16) will also be with us for the trip.
luckily the Grand National Roadster show is on while we are there so we will definately be going to that.
i would like to catch up with some Hambers if we can while we are there.
i have been on this board a long time(only post when i think i got something constructive to add) and even tho i have only met DR J on our last trip in 2000, you start to feel like you know people, and you even start to think of them as mates.
any suggestions on things to do or places to visit while we are there?
we have a hire car the whole 2 weeks
the first 4 days is in anaheim, then we drive to vegas, then back to LA for the roadster show.
anything worth detouring to see on the way back from vegas?
any help would be appreciated guys, and i really would like to meet some fellow hambers face to face

Congrats on the anniversary! Just celabrated our 25th last weekend. (11-12)
We stayed at NYNY and must have walked 10 miles in two days.
Go see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian while there. Get seats up as close as you can.
    Order them online
While in LA hit the Grand National Roadster Show at Pomona. Think it's the last weekend in Jan.

    nhra museum
    air museum at chino airport

  7. The Planes of Fame at Chino is an absolute must, Yanks is also just down the road. The Nethercutt Museum at Sylmar is also a mind blower in a Pierce Arrow/Pebble Beach kind of way, and free also. Don't forget the NHRA museum at Pomona also.

You must checkout SO-CAL speed shop. They are in Pomona, about 10 mins from the fairplex where the roadster show is held. Also a few guys there are hamb'ers.

If you want to see a lot of roadsters built as street rods...go to the SoCal Shop. If you want to see Hot Rods go to: Kennedy Brothers, Circle CityHR , Hollywood HR, Early Ford Store, Old Crow, etc....

stop at Gene Winfield's shop in Mojave... It's right off the road on the way to Vegas...
21 is the drinking age in the U.S.
Minors are not allowed to loiter in the casinos..They can walk through but can not stop and hang out..Security will make sure they keep moving... They can go to the shows, roller coasters, pool, etc.... Jason.

  15. Don't go to Yorba Linda for breakfast, that's Bad Bob's Village Idiots Tuesday nights, the anti-donut is Huntington Beach.
