Can you put a 2000 mustang Tremec behind a early 302 ford motor?
I have the Mustang bell housing.
Or what do I need to do so?

    Thanks:confused:

If you purchase the correct bell housing, yes. The 2000 mustang V8 is a 4.6 Modular and the bell housing will not bolt up to a Windsor pattern engine. You can use the correct bell housing for the engine along with an adapter from McLeod www.mcleodind.com part# 8607, or a ****ter sheild type bell housing 8750-03.

You would have to verify what you're starting with. 2000 Mustang would have had the B-W T-45 trans, which has an integral bellhousing ... won't go behind a 302. Part way through 2001 model year, Ford started switching over to the Tremec TR-3650, which had the separate bellhousing, in which case you could swap it for a SB Ford pattern unit. Of course if you're talking about an aftermarket Tremec that has been swapped in to the 2000 Mustang, it should have a separate bellhousing as well.

    cheers
