Here are some pictures of a 31 vicky that we are building. We are trying to keep an Early 60's look to it. The first pic is the car on the ch***is table.

The engine is going to be a really healthy 348, The customer supplied the engine, I believe it is bored and stroked to 408 cubic inches. The transmission is a 4-speed.

This car has been a little challenging to build, I have always built cars with a forward rake, getting the ride height so the tire fit perfect in the rear wheel well was tough!! Originally we were going to use the stock model A crossmember, with the spring on top of the rear end. We soon realized it was going to sit to high, We then decided to back half the frame, with a small kick up and put the spring behind the rear end. I also like the idea of having the pinion angle adjustable, so we made it so the spring can pivot.

You can also see in the first picture, the bulkhead plates that are welded to the inside of the frame rail, we then keyed the boxing plates to weld over the bulkheads. It was alot of work but I think it was worth it.
Our next phase of the project was getting the front wishbones mounted. The hangers had to hang down a little bit, so I wanted to make sure they were plenty strong. We made the the hangers out of 5 different pieces and welded it all up. I made the tapered bung on the Lathe.

So this is were we are at right now with it, as of last week we took the firewall out and started to mock up the engine. My sidekick Matt Proctor has really been helping out on this project. I am going to try and keep updating this as we go. My problem is I am completely disfunctional when it comes to the computer, and it takes me forever to do this!!
    Thanks for looking

That car is going to be amazing. I really like the rear kick-up and the front wishbone hangers...there's got to be a ton of work in the ch***is so far.

    Nice work Jimmy!

PS...Congratulations on getting the pictures in the post, but next time make them about three times that size! :)

Is that a V8-60 front axle? Did you have to have a custom width main leaf made, if so?

Dude, Dont even get me started on the spring!! I had it custom made, I brought the axle, perches, and shackles to the spring place. He measured everything up and said no problem. Well two trips back to the spring shop and we finally got it right. I also had them add some arch to it.

Thanks for sharing all those little details with us,you and your guys do amazing, well engineered, well thought out, solutions to building cool rides.I'm a firm believer in the theory, that if each part is built as a perfect piece unto itself, then when they all get combined together, the car will "outshine" all the rest.;)
