While i have been doin the willys i have also been building a driver for a friend. This lil truck has heat, overdrive, wipers defrost and a whole lotta at***ude. Also do you think the yellow grill is to much for the willys/ if so what should I do?

These are both great looking machines and I really like them so I'm not dissin' your work.
How much more do you plan on doing to the Willys? It could make a difference. That's a pretty bare front end with a LOT of circles.
The truck has the rad shell to sucessfully break up all the black and provide contrast for the eye.
The Willys is just too much of one color. Like GlenC says.. at least outline the grill or install an insert. It needs something to draw the eye away from all of that eye-searing yellow. ;) It kinda looks like a 'gl*** kit. Sorry.
Are you changing the wheels? Maybe paint them the same or swap them out for something that matches a bit more.
A little more side-pipe for the exhaust but not too much unless you are looking for the street-rod look.
Opinions will vary and you are building it but that's my simple opinion.

I dunno,,,I think it looks like something that would have hit the strip in the 60's,,,

I favor leaving it just like it is. HRP

Jim, you can't have too much yellow. It looks like a gsser of the 60's , which is what I thought you were building. The holes in the non-grille give it the right look. I like it as is, can't wait to see it finished. How about a Tasmanian Devil airbrushed in there?

You need to install the Lil side grills, Headlights & Chrome windshield frame BEFORE you determine if its to much Yellow.

If you ***emble the rest of the front parts you may see that just the parts you have not installed will breakup the M*** of Yellow enough to leave the grill alone.

You have nothing to break it up right now so it looks YELLOW !!!

Hang that **** on there & take another pic, If you still think its to much... A) Stock grill insert... B) Raw Aluminum insert... C) Paint the insert you have with a Roth Style pic like guys did in the '60s

Isn't "too much" the point of g***ers? Too high, too loud, too fast?:D
The build looks great so far.

Im tampted to do the a large portion of the hood semi gloss black. Kinda like an anti glare thing. As for the grill, Im thinkin if I chrome the w/s frame i will chrome the grill insertmaybe as well.

I would finish putting it together but the grill needs something, I like the aluminum insert idea. Maybe even a turned stainless panel?

I've been using a great product "stainless steel paint" for a long time. I think it needs a coat of that stuff..looks silvery in a satin-finish kinda way...very nice
