My first chop! chopped my 36 pickup

    I chopped my pickup last weekend. Just thought Id share some before and after pics. This was my first time to do any sheetmetal work. Im not finished yet but I'm very happy with how it looks.:) Now back to the business coupe before the wife kicks my ***!:rolleyes:

    I love it. I normally don't like that style of truck but you nailed the proportions and the look. Did I say I love it?

    Can't tell about your welding but your alignment looks good from the pictures.

    Yes he does. And a partially chopped '54 chev.

    Thats pretty cool. It looks better than 99% of the other trucks built in that style, you did good by not getting too crazy with the chop.

    Looks great. I am going to attempt to do something similar, but I have never gone to as far as to build a frame. Can you give us some particulars such as, wheel base, how much the frame was Z'd, How much the bed was shortened. running gear. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first all out project.

    the wheelbase is 110" the bed is shortened 2'-it is chopped 2.5". it has a s10 4x4 rear end a 4" dropped & drilled i beam axle with split wishbones. The frame is 2x4 box tubing. It has a 1964 327 with a 1966 turbo 400 trans and soon to have 3 twos sitting on top. I dont have the dimensions on the front z and the rear kickup at work and honestly dont remember.
