I need some of you Ford ch***is experts to help me ID the frames in the pictures. The red one was under my '39 coupe. It was removed when I installed the body on the black frame. It's time to order a radiator and just want to make sure I have the correct info to give to the shop. My question involves the radiator mounts in the front of the ch***is. The mount on the red frame is paralell with the lower frame rail. Notice the one on the black frame. It's raised up about 2" above the lower frame rail.
I would like to find out what year these frames are. Any of you Ford experts have any opinions as to the years of each? Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to order a radiator and then find there is something I overlooked. Thanks, Mike

  2. the radiator mounts on the red frame are for `39 deluxe and all `40's

you need to transfer them to your black frame so you can use the radiator made for the `39 deluxe you have in your profile

FYI...the mounts on the black frame were used `36 to `39 standard

I used a 31 radiator in my 40 pick up it gave me 3" more room for my 302. I did'nt have to cut the fire wall.

The black frame looks like a 35-36 by the radiator mount bracket.

With a bit of cutting, the '36 frame is now ready for a '39-40 radiator. Worked out fine. Thanks for the info guys. Mike
