how do i fit this to my 46 59ab motor my old one has two bolt and the lincoln has 3 bolt is there an adaptor? what kind of process is involed with this. any pics of ones on cars . thanks billy
change the 2 bolt cover to a 3 bolt cover and use a cam "spacer" basically an adaptor with a tab on one side and a groove on the other. i think speedway now carries it.
just curious...what kind of points does your dist use? one i have takes some sort of "magneto" style (doesnt have a pivot post, just a heavy flat spring)and ive been unable to find a suitable replacement.
i'll probably get yelled at for this (no intro newbie) but i was wondering if the potvin models are v-12 housings with modified caps or the v-8 housings with zephyr rotor and coil. I am a big fan of both but most i've messed with are kind of home made. intrigued by "pro" built models.
Look up dual coil and flathead in search option...there's been a lot. There were several different commercial conversions, at least on kit, and '37-41 Ford distributors adapted to a Lincoln coil and stuff... there are different styles and points, most use same industrial mag points as H&C dual coil. There's a 3-part how-to by Moon in Car Craft 1954, badly reprinted in an early HRM yearbook. Moon I think ran or was allied with Potvin, so I ***ume his style was potvin's...Lincoln case, Ford advance, mag points.
