STARLINER: My visit to GAMBINO CUSTOMS today....taping the panels!!

I went straight from the airport to Alex's shop this morning to check the Starliner out in person. It looks GREAT! Just what I wanted. I had been trying to sketch out ideas for the panel job, but I felt like I just needed to go mess with it on the actual car.

So, when I showed up we unmasked the heap, Alex brought me some rolls of fine-line tape, and I started planning the panel layout. Here are some shots from today. My lines are just for illustration purposes and will be redone after the car gets wetsanded and the jams get sprayed. The photos definitely DO NOT do the flake job justice. The panels will be lace on all the top surfaces (hood, trunk, top). The sides will get webbed. All panels will be blue and will fade. I can't wait.

Blue candy panels faded from the outside in. The ones on upward facing surfaces will get a light lace, while the panels on the sides will likely get webbed. The areas between the panels will be the white you see.

This was the inspiration... only here the base was light pearl blue...

I only had time to do a rough one on this front 3/4 photo.

I love the little scalops you did, and also the stuff you did on the cowl look very nice.
