yeah, that is just sick. can i have it?

  8. I absolutely love it. After seeing the taped lines versus the Photoshopped panels, I like "just the lines" best. I'd vote for a some nice pinstriped panels not to be filled in. Either way, the perfect car, the perfect stance (airbag adjustable) and about to have the perfect paint. Nice going Kirk.

White flake - sweet. Can't say I've seen white flake. Lace AND cobwebs, a paint job after my own heart. THAT gave me wood.
This had better make a damn appearance at Roundup, Kirk.

Wow! Great looking car! Love the paint. My dad had one like it back in 60, but his was black with red interior, very nice, but not nearly as nice as what you're going to have in the end.

    Keep the pix coming!

Very Watsonesqe. With that paint job you really need a pimp'n interior. What are your plans?

The car's gonna be bad***. I love '60 Starliners and the whole Watson style paint scheme.

A couple of things catch my eye on Riksters photoshop though. I know you said that this was preliminary tape, but just things to consider.

I think the scallop off the front wheel needs to come straight from the top of the wheel well and further back towards the middle of the door. Watson did it the way you have it there on the Angress Ford, but that car is rounder and I think the Starliner should emphasize its sleekness by keeping the lines sharper and less rounded.

On the same note, I think the straight white line from the cowl to the fender blocks the car too much. It seperates the hood and limits the flow from back to front. I hesitate to say it, because I don't know exactly how I would make it work differently. And because Rikster said he likes it! I know ya'll have better eyes for this stuff than I do, but it doesn't look quite right to me.

The only other other thing I think you might consider is the width of the white borders on the hood. I'd like to see it with the white being closer to the same width as the shoulder and roof lines. And the center hood scallop would have to grow to match. This may throw the whole car off and those lines might get too bold. But I'd like to see a little more of that kick*** white up front.

Hope you don't take this nitpicking wrong. The car is *****in' which is why I've disected it so much. I'm not really a details guy, but I really dig the direction you are taking this one so I've studied it.

Kirk, thanks for keeping us posted. Like anything that comes out of Gambino Kustoms, this one claims its right at the top of the chain.

Actually they are great observations. I tried that scallop off of the front wheel well a few different ways; longer, shorter, higher. That version looked the best in person.

The end of the panel next to the cowl vents is a little clunky, but I couldn't find a better alternative. I think it will look a little better when the white dash is back in the car.

Also, the blue is not going to be nearly as solid as Riksters version. The panels will be mostly light blue with somewhat darker faded edges. I don't want it to be too stark.

    Someone mentioned interior...

My dream would be Fat Lucky interior. We tried to work it out and I just couldn't swing it. I'm going to go with the same pattern as the stock seats. The inserts will be blue fabric with metallic accents. Around that will be white vinyl. The doors and dash will have white pearl drum-skin inserts to match the steering wheel.

I'm not sure about the carpet yet. The trunk will match the interior.

I think you are right on the flow from front to back when you seperate the hood... Not sure if the whole cowl should be blue or not.

Also raised the scallop to the top of the front fender line....
I had not time to do the more white on the front as you sugested...

Yeah, I didn't really take into enough consideration that the faded panels will open it up a lot. As will the lace and webs. And the scallop for the middle of the wheel is more "Watsonesque". But seeing other ideas in photoshop couldn't hurt. If anything, you'll see something you know you don't like. Or maybe stumble on to something good.

Rikster, maybe take that scallop back further to just in front of the lower line, or just behind it. And grab some white from lower to start the scallop thicker.

Taking that line off the cowl changes the whole flow to me. What if you took some white from the cowl and turned to to match the windshield? Meaning the white would curve from the cowl piece to the A piller. It would add some more white, make the cowl even less boxy, and would emphasize that panel as more of a panel.

Take this or leave it Kirk, not trying to tell you what to do. Just throwing out ideas that meet my personal taste. I know you didn't really ask for advice, so tell me to shut up whenever.

Cool. You never know who's gonna be into it, and who's going to be offended. You don't seem easily offended, so I figured I'd go for it.

I'm only offended by rude, stupid or ignorant. Your suggestions are none of those.
