Finally was able to get a decent shot of my '49. This is right before I loaded it to go to the exhaust shop. Should be done tomorrow.
Looking good. What elese do you have planned for it? Custom or by the looks of the wheels something else?
When you get the exhaust done and the brakes working Can I drive it? You can follow in the ElCamino. Knowing the history and effort in this car It is one of my favorites. Besides the fact I have spent several hours under it on too short jackstands working on the transmission. And don't forget cutting coil springs with a dremel tool. TZ
Of course you can.. In fact I thought I had the brakes sorted out, but just as I was loading it onto the trailer one of the front ones decided to start locking up..
Cool, man. I dig those wheels. Tell us more! ..."cutting coils with a dremel"... oh man, I've been there! Just gotta make due with the tools you have Malcolm
Its has a 327 w/ M-20 4 speed. I've been back and forth on what to do with this car, but I've decided to just make it a "hot rod". Not custom stuff done to the body or anything, except for maybe a louvered hood and shaved handles. Use the wheels that are on it now and that's pretty much it.
Its great to finally see it out of the garage again. Maybe one of these days we can finish the paint job.
The easiest way to get that baby lookin better is too spend as much time as possible coming around corners sideways in it If you just wanna go for the "god damn, thats a cool old car" look, you got it NAILED!!!! after the brakes r done, its all about MILEAGE
Here's a hint of what is to come in the future for this car.. I got almost a complete setup for an SBC, but I need an idler pulley and a few small things to complete it.
I still have the copper wheels and might go back to them anyway.. These 5-spokes are VERY close to the fender lip
