Model T? Old wood part..

Hi, I don't know diddly about cars, or much about these forums, but i was referred here to get some help!
I have this very old car part that is all wood and has the 'ford' on it. I was once told that it should have come from a Model T from long ago, and that it was some thing-a-ma-jig (can't remember what the word was) from like the engine or something to make the car start!?
If anyone has knowledge of this old (possibly antique?) car stuff, please let me know and I'd be happy to get you a pic! Thanks for reading!
