well, i had all this left over model a coupe body panels that i got for next to nothing but what was left was next to nothing, it was partially an old dirt track body with some other chunk of another car, well i had enough parts laying around to make a complete body, kinda--the whole bottom of the car is gone so im gonna have to patch all that up but should be fun. so i did some measuring and made a frame two weekends ago, then i got the body kinda in one piece, chopped it 6-1/2 inches, then i got that on the frame. the other day i fabbed up the subrails and got the rear end ride height figured out, so then i got the front mocked up at ride height, then i swung the hemi into place for fitment, everything seems to fit rite so far, im gonna wait on the front end/wheel base placement till i have the pully system and rad there for measurements, i dont want the grille to far forward of the wheels. then last night i did some reinforcing of the body, 1x1 tubing around the back window, some around the quarter windows and then around to the back panel, then down to the subrails, its getting very sturdy. it also needs some major rear quarter drip rail repair, i think i got it all figured out in my head what i want to do with that. stay tuned for more same bat channel same bat time titus
the motor is an industrial 331 with the high mount water pump, i looked into a few tech things here on the hamb, maybe some one would know, the water pump on there is super long, is there one that is shorter that bolts in the same place, i have some ideas of leaving the timing cover along and making an idler/fan set up like a flathead but need a shorter water pump?? i have a couple of water pumps ordered in to work on monday but am not sure if theyll fit, one is almost identically looking to the one i have on there but is shorter, catolog says it fits 51-54 chrysler industrial so im hoping! jeff
