I have been to numerous auto parts and hardware stores and cannot find the fitting I need. I built myself in a corner on my MC placement. My only choices are to either find the 90deg fitting I need or braze together a couple of different fittings to make what I need. All I keep finding are pipe thread which is different.

I have googled and searched and I haven't found it yet. Partly because I don't understand the labeling. As best as I can describe...

90 deg, male end (***uming that's right since you screw it into the MC) is 5/8" with an inverted flare. On the female side, I need to be able to screw in 3/8" with an inverted flare to accept the 3/16" brake line. Any advice where to find such a thing?

Back in the old days you could go to the Orange drawers that every good Auto Parts store had but, those day's are long gone. Over here in Arlington I ended up at Arlington Hardware which was the only place in town that had a selection. Other than that there are alot of places on line that sell the stuff just talk to them to make sure that you are getting the right stuff as their are all types of flairs and thread sizes etc. Also check out Industrial supply places they will some time have them or Grainger.

The bins with all the brake and master cylinder adapters and fittings at
Autozone and O'Rileys are in the back.

If you ask nice they usually let you pick through the drawers and test fit.

Most auto parts stores don't carry a large selection of br***, brake fittings, just the most common. Look for the fitting you need in the Weatherhead catalog and take the PN to Napa, a Weatherhead dealer. They should be able to get ya the fitting you need in a day or so....

Here's the Weatherhead br*** fitting catalog. If it isn't in here, it doesn't exsist. http://hydraulics.eaton.com/products/pdfs/fc/W-HYOV-MC001-E_br***_fittings.pdf

Your best bet is to get the "nut" with the 5/8" thread/3/16" center hole (the factory part ) and install a 6 to 8" long section of 3/16" tube. bend a hard 90% right as is clears the nut, then couple up down away from the master.
inverted flare 90's are hard to find, to my knowledge, adaptor inverted flare 90's do not exist !
they make straight adaptor fittings for your problem, but when you stack an adaptor and then the tube w/nut it gets longer..
    good luck !

Hey Frank...do Y'all have A-Line Auto parts in Mesquite?
They have "Ye olde bins O' Fittings" here...But only A-Line seems disinterested enough to let anyone do thier own digging.:D

I found some of the fitting I needed for my brakes at a local independent plumbing store. Old school guy with a handlebar moustache knew his **** and had all kinds of fittings

Look for a swivel inverted flare fitting. Most likely, a solid 90 degree inverted flare adaptor won't point in the direction you want. Right angle pipe fittings can just be tightened more to solve this, which doesn't work with inverted flare.

try to find a banjo fitting, that would give you a quick 90 degrees. these were used on master cylinders on 50s chevys, I seem to recall.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll try some of these links. I've been digging high and low in some of the best older hardware stores around (ACE, True-Value, Elliot's). Not too many old auto parts stores around here anymore, but I was able to source a couple of other odd fittings at ABC Auto and one O'Rielly. I can find pipe thread all day long, but its tapered and just a hair smaller. It will thread in but just too loose until it snugs and I don't have a lot of confidence in the seal. Also, the MC (69 Ford pickup) has a built in RPV that really needs an inverted flare fitting to ensure its not going to leak.

not much help at this point, but when at PickAPart type junkyards, i always keep my eyes open for special fittings, if i see one that may come in handy, i grab it.

how about some more info about the rest of the setup, maybe there's another solution...like a "corvette" master that has fittings on both sides.

Do you have a NAPA store near you, the one here has drawers(not sure of color) and when I ask, I usually receive whatever it is I need.

The Weatherhead cabinets were the treasurehouse of fittings for pipe, tubing, brakes, air supply(both garage and brake), and water.
The problem is all auto parts stores want to carry is A(fastest moving) parts for best profit. That's why the Dorman Cabinets(the orange and black ones) have gone away and the package quan***ies of weird 3,5,11 pieces are what we have left. Much of the stuff is available still but the stores don't carry the stuff and aren't too interested in ordering it for you either. Profit is the ticket, they already pay the lowest wages for jobs that do require half-a-brain rather than "fries with that, mac?".
