how many showed today? i would have been there but the eye doctor needed to see me first thing in the am. hey, if most guys can not make it on saturdays, how about sundays? i realize there might be church or family stuff but i know myself, no church and my family doesnt get up on the weekends until after 10:00 am, so i am usually free to do whatever i want on sunday early mornings. lets kick it around and see what everyone thinks. lets not let all the west coast guys have all the fun on the week ends!! also, if you guys dont want to go to a sit down place, we could try and work something out with maybe crustycreme or a dunkin donuts in the area. i know the new one at 108th and cicero in oak lawn has a big parking lot and the doctors building next door is probably closed on sundays (big lot also) .that dunkin donuts has a lot of seating inside also .chucks has much better food though. lets see what we can come up with here ,it would be great to see how many chicago area hambers we could get together. mike

Well the two Larrys met again.(OldBobSign & myself). Were really getting to know the menu and the waitresses quite well. Were close to having Chuck put together a special HAMB breakfast on the menu.

Mitch is on target . If theres a better date speak up ! We cant read minds. Chuck's was selected for food quality more so than location. But good food will go a long way in bringing people together. OldBobSign is really liking the menu and someone will need to keep him company next week. I'll be back in town on the 27th. Hell I' ll even bring the "French *****" to breakfast when I get back just as a little incentive to get some of you guys up early. ( I've been told she's nice to look at but you cant touch since shes a little tempermental.) .
Lets share some thoughts on how we can make this a great event for all of the Chicago area HAMBer's.

Just a note from an outsider. You won't regret getting this thing going. Once you get the routine it's just like breathing, you're automatically "in" for whatever day and time you pick.
We've been doing Saturday breakfast here for a few years and it would be a shame if anything got in the way of getting together.
A couple times a year we even manage to get some of the guys from Detroit up for a Saturday morning, meeting at a midpoint (midpoint meaning a short drive for us and a real sprint for them:eek: :D )
Hope no one minded my ****ing in. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

That sounds great but saturday is not so good for me. Sunday lunch maybe BLT'S and ****** Marys. Chicago wasn't built on milk and cookies.

Yup! 7:00am. Scheduled to appear: YOU, Mitch36, Surface Doctor (in from MN), me, Peter Pan of Chicago and it is hoped that HotRodCh***is & Shoebox Mags and Hellfish might make it.

Had to head to the north side for work last week so I had the daily driver instead of the coupe or the roadster but Larry and I were there, as usual.

Thanks for the pep talk Frank - we be tryin':). To underscore Frank's point, I actually first met him (and his posse) at the very "half-way point " breakfast he mentioned up in Frankenmuth - a memorable occasion for sure.

By the way, Fab32 was in town for the Pileup but that was a Saturday so we went there instead.

See you in the morning. I'll try to remember to give this a bump this afternoon.

  22. I've been to the Frankenmuth GMB breakfast a few times - always a good time. My wife and I are about due for a weekend in Chicago and a visit with our youngest and his sweetheat. I'll give you guys a shot sometime soon.

Great news Charlie! Make sure you let us know so we're there!!!:D Where in the metro area is your son?

  24. They are on the near north side just south of where 94 peels off towards Milwaukee. She manages one of the Coach stores and he's a fledgling professional photographer. Not a lick of "car" in him though.

Just in case palosfv3 (Larry) checks the HAMB from Phoenix.....

We had seven show up this chilly Chicago morning - largest group yet. We figured it's 'cause Larry is out of town.:D

Clockwise around the table: 1lowtrk, Peter Pan of Chicago, Mitch36, tiger mark & diamond49, oldbs, and FoMoCoPower.

Larry will be back next week so we'll see if it's just the two of us again. I'll be stopping by on my way to the Chicago BrushMasters panel jam to be held at T&M Sign Supply and then on to VooDoo Larry's open house around dinner time.
