i posted this on ruffrodders too, just wanna get everyones opinion.. im sick of seein chevy's with always stock grills, i wanna make mine pretty much like this... can anybody shed some light on this for me, i mean i literally dont know what i should do? also.. what grill is this?
i had a feeling that was his ride before it was chopped an painted, still looked hella good then, whats his name on here?
Looks like a 55 Olds grill but the 55 Chrysler had a rear bumper with an overrider that looked very similar to it.
55 Chrysler is very similar, but yes those do look like 54/55 Olds. Pretty much (as far as I know) the same deal. I have a beat up leftover 55 Olds grille bar Im planning on using in my 51 Merc. Now, any of you actually do this? Kopis, did that come in the car or did you make it? They are all straight, so getting the peak in it is what I want to do...did you have to just remove metal or actually add any?
The grill surround was from a 53 Chevy.... it was m***aged quite a bit and cut in the middle and angled a bit... no measurements, just stood back far enough til we could actually see the car and went until it looked right.... Frank Palmer did that job.......there is meatl added to the front of the hood to meet the grill shell better as well......the bar is from a 55 Olds.....cut in the center and angled to fit......the ends have 49 Ford taillight buckets installed with clear bulbs. they came on when the lights were on and got brighter for turn signals......the lenses were just RTV'd in plexigl***......
