Yesterday there were more than few of us joking that we had seen everyones cars who said they wouldn't be there. (Inlcuding me.)

The show that nobody is going to go to but everyones is at.

I haven't been in a few years because it simply isn't what it used to be. I don't care for Donks and whacked out 4X4's. This year it seems like it's returned to a better time. Good old fashioned show cars up front...and good old fashioned hot rods in back.

I couldn't get a lot of pics of the show but I pulled a good set of pics of the display of local hot rodders. It's good that all of us know each other through someone else that's there or through this board. I've been telling people since Wednesday that I need a tshirt that says "My real name is not Blacksix."

Thanks for the pics. I'm still undecided whether to go or not. If I don't go, it will be one of only a few times since I first moved to Houston in '74.

The last few years, it seemed like it was just the same cars. Vettes, Camaros and Mustangs mostly. It's raining today, I may just wander downtown and take a chance.

Somehow I've only got 30 pics up there. I guess I deleted the last post before I hit submit. Oh well. Going back today and taking more pics. I'll to this thread when I get home.

Ha, The sixth picture down is me in the center, with Terry on my right, and some dude I just met on my left. Anyone know him? He seemed to know what he was talking about.
    BTW, nice pics!

That dude on the left is "Unclee" on the board. Lee for short.

And I still can't figure out what happened to the bike pics and some of the pics of other cars. I know I was drinking while taking pictures but there is no way I hosed it up that bad. I'll have to retake them.

MUCHO motorcycles in "our" areas back there. Many I've seen and some I've heard about. Good stuff. I'll post them when I get back this afternoon.

Damn! I went a few years ago, and it was an ok show (ten times better than the Dallas one) but it looks like it's gotten a lot better this year. I don't think I've got anything planned tomorrow.....

I went Friday afternoon and it is by far the best indoor show held in Texas in a very long while.

Thanks should go out to Mark and Daneen Truitt for the work they put in to get the "hot rod" section put together.

I'm going to plan on having a car there next year.

I agree with you Brian, the show was by far the best it's been in 15+ years. Mark and Daneen did a really good job of putting this together. The bands were a big plus.

    Looks like fun...

and yes, "Jesse" does, indeed rock... did he play "I'm Home Gettin Hammered While She's Out Gettin Nailed"?

And Jesse's a car guy, too... did he have his shoebox at the show?

Pic stolen from some hoodlum in east TX

The bellytanker was freaking cool! Talk about br***balls to drive that thing anywhere over 40mph today or even back in the day. wow. And I'm on the hunt for one of the tanks that that thing had as a fuel tank. Looked like a weinerdog version of the bomber airtanks.

Show was very cool this year. I had totally sold it off after the past couple. Don't get me wrong there were still a **** load of new Vette's and Mustangs there. hell even a new F-450 fresh off the dealerlot with rims made it out (rolling eyes)

Mark and Deneen Truit made it happen in a big way. They got some of the Austin guys to come over, including Jimmy Vaughn, they got some local stuff to show up that never comes out of storage. And they got the rest of us hoodlums that regularly see each others **** and drink each others beer.

Seeing Brad Shaw's "Blacksix's" roadster in black with a 383, I took a double take, as just a few weeks ago it was DP90 brown and not a 383. Damn cool change.

And Terry Price out in the Roswell car. Love that thing. As well as probably my favorite custom for this year was Billy's Gold Chebby with the Los Cochino's.

Good times, next year will be even better.

Quick story. Friday one of the wifes friends calls her, and asks where I am because she's at Autorama and sees my truck. Turns out her boyfriend and his dad had the ******* Mustang up near the front with the Mustangs of America or something. My wife asks where they are at, she says: "We are in the front where all the nice cars are." Ha LOL, different strokes.........

Missed one up front. ARDUN headed Ford. Kinda shiny and it has EFI but a nice hot rod.

Yes, they sell beer and ****tails. As well as a bunch of the guys were able to bring coolers if you had the super secret handshake down.

  28. You missed the shiney black T up front, hard to photograph though, I'll give it a shot this afternoon.

Great coverage, guys - looks like we missed a good one. I know Mark and Daneen worked their ***es off getting this together, and it looks like the effort paid off nicely.

    We'll we there next year.

    I didn't miss anything dammit. :D
I just didn't include those cars since they weren't in the back with us.

I can't post a pic of every car even if it "fits" for the converstaion.

That copper ford with the ardun heads on it is super nice and it's up at the very front with the show cars.

There were only three T-Buckets at the event oddly enough. If Houston is short of any particular kind of car it's certainly not T-Buckets.

    Here are two of them.
