Were they popular or a good gauge? I found one that i was given about 15 years ago. The chrome bezzel is very nice and it only had 2400 miles on it. I tried looking around to see if i could fine one on the bay to compair it to but there were none. The particular gauge has the weighted end on the opposite end of the needle. Im thinking of frenching it into the dash of my Model A rpu.... So.......whats the scoop? Thanks Leon
Ihave also tried to find imfo on these guages , they seem to be most noted for their tachs . I have two sets of sun guages speedo, temp, oil,gas both sets look similiar but have slight differences on the faces. Got the one set from a buddy he had them in a t -bucket never had a problem with them. The other set i got off the ham about a year ago. I have not seen many sets or singles come up for sale.my bud said he bought them locally back in the 70s. You could get them in mech or elec . ,but the speedo was only mech . Anybody else shed any light on these guages??? bob41
Sun gauges were good ****, if you are building a 60's or 70's period car then a set of Sun ( NOT Sunpro ) gauges would be icing on the cake. Sunpro gauges look similar and work OK but it just isn't the same. Sun was right up there with S-W and around here was extremely popular, they also had a budget line called Sunline which were for us poor guys that couldn't afford the good stuff but didn't want the embar***ment of having RAC gauges in our car. When NOS or clean used Sun gauges show up on eBay they bring good money.
My dad has a full set of Sun gauges in his 34 pickup. They work good and are kind of cool looking. He bought them new in the mid 70's. They go good with the Cal Custom valve covers and oilpan that he bought about the same time. Dave
