I am thinking of making a set of steel wheels for my bucket.Plan is to use a set of 15 inch VW rims up front and a set of 15 by 8/10 truck rims and replace the center with stock GM steel centers with a off set on the rear.My bolt pattern is GM so the reasoning for the GM centers.Anyway Would like to see some pics of late model steel wheels that are painted. Thanks fitzee
Powdered, but it should give you a good idea. Give some thought to using a 14" wheel up front. A small wheel in a small tire balances well visually speaking with the big wheel and big tire in back. That said, the wheels in the pics are 5" x 15" up front and 6" x15" in the rear. 15's on the front of the A look ok, but they could be overpowering style-wise on a T. A lot depends on the tire you use. Along those same lines, you can find 14" wheels at the junkyard that are 4 1/2" and 5" wide.

Tire size is not a problem.I want to keep the rubber I have.Just sick of the wheels.(As well as the headers)Thanks for the tip on the Mags,I will pick one up.
I hope those will fit. Front wheels are from an early Volvo Amazon or PV 544/444. And rear wheels from a chevy Caprice sedan.
Don`t think I find the front but I can find the rears.Just want a bit of a off set.reasoning for the 8 inch wheel. But then agian I can just reverse the caprice wheel!!Hmmm
Nice ride. I agree with the wheel choice, they kinda look out of place on that car. What's wrong with the headers? Too loud?
The fronts are 15x5 with standard offset and the rears are 16X8 with negative 6" offset to tuck the tire closer to the body since I got the quick change incorrectly built with 60" wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface...............should have been 56". But.............the front offset is the same on both front and rear wheels.
Great stuff. What are the back wheel from.they look like there is no dimple where the hub cap goes on.That is the look I`m after. fitzee
Thanks a Million. The first one is what I`m after.Painted with crome lugs. The trim ring don`t look to bad eather. digging through my rim pile I came across a set of 15 by 6 crome reversed.A bit pitted but will look good painted. Now to find two for the front. Oh as to why I want to change the headers.I don`t think they look right on the body stile. I am going to build a set of lake stile header for it. That was the plan but never got around to it.
Thanks for the fender bracket post. Seems like they have to be a little different on some disc brake setups.
I think they came off an early 70's gm pickup..they got the wide pattern to them. they do have dimples for caps though.
Late 80's Lincolns/Crown Vics/Grand Marquis have the 'no dimple" wheels in a Ford pattern and recent Astro Vans have 'em in a GM pattern.
