how do you think this tire would look on an early 30's 16" wire wheel?

    http://store.coker.com/product.php?productid=18148&cat=0&page=1

i want something kinda skinny and i don;t want to go any bigger than 25" tall at the most. i would like to stay closer to 24".

is this tire ment to be for a motorcycle?

they'd be going on the front of my RPU thats pretty light.

I think your front tire choice is a MC tire.

I agree... it looks exactly like a motorcycle tire. 325 is awfully small, regardless.

ok, then that brings me to my next question. why not run a motorcycle tire? its a bias ply, plenty thick enough for the light car and the only other problem i see is if my rim is too wide.

    any opinions on this?

    thanks fellas.

Don't tires kinda have weight ratings? Tire might not be able to withstand the weight, especially on the front. A light car is still a heavy motorcycle. I would check into that, just to be safe.

For that 30s rim you will want a 6.00x16 at least. That's still only putting 4 1/2" of tread on the ground.

First off, I'm just going off the top of my head, but I have a _bit_ of experience with motorcycles, so it may be semi-correct. ;)

The motorcycle tire would probably physically fit on the rim, hold the weight (how heavy is a gold wing??), and work fine while going straight down the road. My concern would be that in a corner, a motorcycle leans (i.e. uses the tread to either side of the center for traction) whereas a typical automobile would continue using the main part of the tread for grip.

A couple of thoughts are that first off, if the bead isn't strong enough, or the wrong shape (I have no idea if a M/C tire and auto tire have the same bead style...), you may lose your tire in a corner. Next, ***uming everything works fine, most likely, you'll be going through a ton of M/C tires, as the life span is far shorter than an auto tire. Also, since you have a smaller contact patch, stopping could be compromised, and if you're pushing the weight limits, when you transfer all of your car's weight to the front tires for sudden braking, you could have twin blowouts.

Just some thoughts... I'm sure some have holes in them, just trying to be on the safe side of things. ;)

thanks for your input. i have old harleys too so alot of your concerns i had thought of too. i will have to run a tube so the bead coming off the rim pretty much gets thrown out and i only run rear brakes so i guess the wear and weight transfer goes out of effect too. right? LOL! hmmmmm.

i've got enough of a death trap already(its not that bad) without these tires adding to it. :D
