i've been wrangling parts out of my backyard and stumbled on these. i couldnt tell if they were lincolns or what, so i was hoping someone could identify these for me?? thanks everyone. and heres a closer look at the fins.
sick, that clears up the mystery. im thinking about running them on my 35 ford truck, i'm ***uming since theyve came off a later 40's ford due to the size of the vehicles, they probably stop pretty decent?
Hubs, drums, backing plates are all 46-48 Ford. The spindles are 32-34. The backing plates have been redrilled and rotated for the early spindles.
39-48 all stop the same. Those being later are easier to adjust. And it looks like the stock holes are still there. Pull them apart, sand blast, have the drums turned. PM me if you want all the parts to rebuild, shoes w/c etc.
They really stop the same. The drums might be a bit better and they are easier to adjust. They used bigger wheel cyl. but you can only buy the bigger cyl. now so no difference. I think the drum fins are great. That one hub is damaged and probably not usable. The spindle is suspect also. The hub is steel so might be straightened.
perfect, thank you andy and vaphead. that clears up pretty much everything i wanted to know, except whats the process for hub straightening? and when it's time to rebuild the front end ill let you know and get the stuff.
You are right Eric! I looked at it and thought there was a gap that was just the humps on the drum. All is well. Sorry.
haha awesome. less work. thanks for all the help guys, and eric when i drag the 35 here to california and start hanging the front end ill definitely send you a message on the rebuild parts. thanks for all the help!!
