Wow! very cool, thanks for posting the pictures. It's like stepping back in time looking at them. A very enjoyable thread. I'm glad to see you appreciate what you have! Casper.

  3. That "Rat Rod" looks like it had a natural style flame job going at one point -

I have a theory about this sort of thing..at the end of WW2 there were a lot guys who had served overseas and seen some some really hot times. When the opurtunity arose to buy a cheap aircraft engine a chance arose to build a mechanical Adrenalin generator to relive the thrills obtained when they were in their late teens and early 20's they built things like this.( they didn't call soldiers "boys " for nothing)

Great pics, What a sleeper that 47 sedan would have been,do you know where it is now. Did it by any chance end up in Florida ?

    Cheers Dago.

Your roadster is amazing. Cool history.

  16. Damn cool pics.

The '29 RPU looks like an East Coast ride, almost like the Knightrider's 29, but with a different engine. I know some cars got out West and down South to the drags.

    Love your roadster, too.

The pictures at the drag strip are at Union Grove Wi. Race there many times in that era. I think the aircraft engine powered dragsters are Walt and Art Arfons.

    Thanks for showing the pictures.

Your Dad's old roadster is super cool! Piero had told me about it before, but I guess this is the first time I've seen it. The roadster I'm doing for myself next is going to have a similar look.

Thanks for going through the trouble of scanning and posting the pics!

Best post this week easy. So, can anyone identify the Aero engine and what it might have come out of? That one caught my attention.

PS: Looks like you still have the driveway plow too from the first photo, cool!

Too cool man......thanks for sharing these pics.....it's what makes this place special.

I'd be really interested in seeing a closeup pic of the intake/linkage setup on your roadster.....to see how it "was" done back then.....

I have no idea where it ended up, actually. Does it remind you of one you've seen before?

I often wondered how your dad let you buy my coupe at your age. Now I know. Nice pictures of some great cars, especially the roadster, not to leave out the coupe. Believe the 47 is actually a 46 according to the park lights and moulding.
