What did your '54 look like? Got a pic?

Put some '65 tail lights in it, cut the coils or bag it, get rid of those ugly *** rally wheels....chrome steeilies or astro's or Cragars with skinny whites would work....and please get rid of those gay tribal flames. I don't care much for the flat black, but those ghost flames have got to go.

Looking for some Cragars or SS rims on it? A two tone would really look cool...metallic dark gray and black separated by a thin red pinstripe!

Hmm...unless the '54 was a complete POS, I probably would have kept it.

Cragars, skinny whites, bright blue or white with scallops on the body and a metalflake roof... Bad *** man. I had one of those as a kid. Never got to drive it though. I traded it for my first driving car, a 63 nova wagon.

well if 60' is what your going for....then some metalflake is a must....Crager SS would look good, Astro Supremes or Crager Tru spokes with thin white walls would look better and you have to have bellflowers......scalops would look Kool too....

Oh man, you traded that 54? I love that car, I remember seeing a post about it a little while back. The Camino is cool too though, interesting stance.

Tough call, I personally dig 'em both.

Guess that's why I have one of each. I don't think I could trade either of 'em.;)

BTW, Groucho's ride is the ****. Alot of work there.

Yeah, I saw you selling the 54 on this site and on ebay. hell, I probably saw it other places to. Isn't this the one with the cheetah or leopard print inside? Over the last month I had been pounding the pavement, well I should say keyboard hard looking for a 53 2dr HT. I was going to buy Fred's 53, you know the Colonel? but he backed out b/c he couldn't part with it. Can't blame him. I came across yours quite a bit. I would have kept the 54, but if your happy then that's all that matters. I'm just not an El Camino guy?

Cool elky. I've had a '74, two '66's, and a '59 which is my favorite.
Once I find a decent 30's-40's hot rod or custom project i'd like to find another elky for a parts chaser. I'd prefer another '59, but a '65 will do. Good luck with it.

Love the elcamino! Used to have a 64 that was the rustiest, most bondo'd vehicle ever, HS shop teacher wouldn't let it higher than 2 ft on the lift! Was still cool though, have owned almost every generation since.

64 is a good size, with simple straightforward styling. Only thing that never sat right with me is the tail lights. Frontend is probably the best chevelle/elco, ever.

Warning. Weird people dig elcaminos. Be prepared for an onslaught of stupidity.

Ciggy...your options with the Elky are only limited by your imagination. The 64-72 G.M. A-Body platform is easily the most versitile Ch***is ever made. period.

    That said, I would...

Lower the rear to match the front.
    Add stupid large sway bars.
(if not already mean) kick the small block "up a notch"
Install a 3=over Muncie (built by supercase-basically a 4 speed muncie in a retardedly tough case geared like a 700R4)
and promptly drive the unholy **** out of it.

    Lose the ralleys..up to you.

Paint it. those things...pretty much any color other than pink is good.

My first car was a '64 Elky. Back when I had it there was very little aftermarket for the car. There was Chevelle stuff, sure, but not much in the way of specific el camino parts. I got rid of the car, and they started making parts, go figure. But to the point, there's tons of aftermarket stuff out there for the car. And it's all pure bolt on. I would have traded mine for a '54 Chevy in a heartbeat, but it was still a good car-truck. The footwell behind the p***enger compartment is the perfect sport for an air compressor and tank, in case you're thinking about bagging it.

Both cars are nice. If your happy thats all that matters! Only thing I would change first off on the Camino would be to level the stance.
