I have posted pics of this before. But I love the big flake and can't help myself.:D This is my Ranchero. I did the flake (was my first time), Darin Allen (killerd) did all the striping. Bottom is Hot Rod Flatz Vanilla Shake. Top is HoK silver base with Organic green Kandy. If you look in the back window you can see a postal helmet that I flaked in silver and blue kandy too.

I've always dug monsterflake, everyone who I know that has used it has been happy with the results.

That Roth Blue Balls looks awesome!

  16. Nice flake! Hows about a step by step for tech week? I,m sure a bunch of us backyarders would like to give it a try.I painted cars 25 years ago and my son wants his 56 Dodge roof flaked.

It seems like the possibilities are endless now. I think pretty much every color and size flake is available. I think your chevy would look good with maybe a flat red body with a red flake and white roof. Just my .02.

Does anyone know where and even if you can get a chart from Roth Monster flake showing the colors and flake sizes? I have some upcoming projects I want to use their flake on but really need to see some samples in person.
    Thanks!

follow the link to the post i did above. it's sort of a tech. i took pictures inbetween me priming, painting, tack coating, flake spraying, and then clearing. the pics show the entire process from begining to end minus the wetsanding which will be done this weekend. i don't know if it qualifies as a tech as i had no clue as to what i was doing. just going along with what i knew as i had read in old paint books and stuff.

yeah we bought a bazooka gun from roth and it was a piece of shit, so we made our own. you just need a jar and a gun with about a quarter inch tip and your good. shoot down the clear real thick first, blow the flake and shoot more clear. then do that about 20 more times... and add what ever else you want along the way. the caddy is a secret mix. it looks way better in person. you also need to blow the flake flat with a air gun while its wet.

The color on this car is amazing. I absolutely love it. As far as color chart for Roth Flake I think you can see a rough idea online. I'll see if I can find the website. BTW I mixed my flake with clear. I used a 1.8 tip which was a little to small for the flaker i was using. But it worked in a pinch. I have since bought a 2.5 tip.

I saw the samples online however I really would like to see them in person. I am fairly confident that if I had that chart laying around I could sell a lot of flake for them.
I emailed someone yesterday about it. I will probably follow up with a phone call today.
