Tampa Poor Boys Invade Daytona

The video looks like it turned out great. I've only played it back on the camera so far, but looks great. Thank you very much for running that for us. Not only will I give you a pat on the head, I may bring you a ring pop too.

The Poor Boy staff is OK but I am starting to think I don't really like how it turned out. I don't know. I am starting to get what I think may have been better ideas. I'll mull it over for awhile and see. If everyone thinks it is fine I will tell myself to forget about it and leave it alone. Does anybody have any input they would like to contribute? We can share them via emails, or at Saturday breakfasts, or Thursday nights.

You are SO creative, that in my opinion, I say run with your thoughts...... you could be a writer for the Leno Show or Saturday Night Live.

I love a good story, Oh look, here's one now! This car belongs to Charli, she drove it down from Oklahoma, alone, to hang with her buds at the TRR and SGP secret campsite, she also slept in it all weekend. She made it back OK yesterday. From now on I bow in here presence.


Here's my minibike, with a hired gun on it, racing a Vespa, he almost caught it.


Eternal thank you's go out to Poor Boy Roger (rmt) for dragging me and my GF in and out of the track and to other Poor Boy activities. I don't want to ruin his moment coming soon but he won't be doing that again next year... I think got a pretty good shot of his wagon at dusk.

Ha Ha The reception was awesome. Tiki, Hawiian, hot rod themes going on. Skip's pinstriped candle holders were amazing. It was a great time. Look forward to the pics (I think). Mike

This response is a little OT, but seeing your rods on the beach brought a smile to my face and some nice memories back from around 25 years ago when I had my high school 67 RS convertible on the beach.

I stayed up all night painting it and then left the next morning (driving it straight through 22 hours while my buddies slept).

Stopped twice during the week long trip to swap out plugs, rebuilt the dual point distributor in Kentucky and reworked one of the Holley carbs somewhere in Tennessee. Every couple hundred miles we would jump off an off-ramp and wind the thing out in first and second to clean it out. It would be good for another couple hours.

There was no heater in that car, so leaving Indiana in early March in a convertible with leaky window and header gaskets meant it was snowing inside and out!

PS: I was still finding sand in the nooks and crannies 5 years later!!!
