A good trade, is what I think! And it's just O.K. that u ask here. Do not worry!
I would love to have a daily El Camino!!! I just missed an original '66 4 Speed SS 396! I had no money. F....! I love the '64 a lot and even more, yes the '69. Caminos are just great cars. Even the later ones.
I have a '59 but that's not a daily driver over here in Europe.

Put on some old five spokes and redlines, and u r the man!!! ;) A satin metallic finish is never bad, and a metalflake top rules!!!
Also cool is the old Shop Truck from "Moon Equipped"! Ever seen it?
A shop truck theme would work out fine! Why not take that old Warehouse sign and put it on the doors?!

Here's my Camino once more;) Have fun!!!

I have a 64 that is FULL of mud and I have had it 10 years now and never drive it so I am looking at trading it even up for a 63 olds dynamic 88 hardtop. I know I will miss it when its gone though!

I had a '64 Elky back in 1976, wish I had it back. I know how I'd do it if it was mine. Stock ride height, painted Tahitian Turquoise Metallic with a white interior and white Tonneau cover with polished Ansen Sprint aluminum slots and white lettered Goodyear Polyglas GT F-70's. Straight out of 1969.

I love that 60's look with the car up on it's toes. Seems like a lot of muscle cars had that stance -maybe it was the big sidewalls. It's kind of unusual now that everything is slammed. But lower looks cool too.

You've got it made with that GM -they make rear suspensions, bag kits, everything. The only way I could lower my Ford "El Camino" ('67 Ranchero) was to get heavy duty, big block springs and cut them 2". This is cheap way to go also.

The fast guys did it to keep their deep sump oil pans and ****** headers off the pavement and the rest of us copied the "look".

Back in 64 I had a brand new one. The first 327 powered , 4 speed in the state of Oregon. 4 years later when some brain dead person pulled 90 degrees in front of me & I "T" boned him at 35-40 mph, the 64 & me were never the same after that.Have had ringing of the ears ever since, especially when one hits their head on the post behind the drivers door.Other than that, I loved it.Now 43 yrs later I have a one owner ( my wifes late 97 yr old uncle), 84 Elky. But, it's a v6 gut- less wounder, but does get 25 mpg. It's a rust free always garaged one tho.Now to fix the leaky turbo trans. & a big crease in the roof ( how in the hell did he do that?). Guess i'm never satisfied.

Good luck with the El Camino. Here is a photo of my Dad's 1964 El Camino. It's been his daily driver since 1979 rain or shine. It's a factory red on red, bucket seat consul, 283 4-speed car. He took out the 4-speed in the mid 80's because he couldn't drink coffee and shift in the morning. I learned to drive in this El Camino, I think this is the reason he took the 4-speed out, doh. It currently has a 383 sbc, turbo 350 and 12 bolt posi with 3:31s and disc brakes up front. Over the years we towed cars, trailers, motors and even loads of used brick in this thing.

I'd hate to have to choose between them. If I lived out of the snow belt I'd drive a '64-'65 El Camino every day. I've wanted one since they were new.
