358 with .030 overbore. My understanding is the AU blocks( except for the NASCAR blocks shouldn't be bored more than .030

A mate of mines XWGTHO revs wayyyyyy past 7500 everyday of the week, trust me, a stout clevo will rev. My bro in laws old wild violet XYGT (with a tweaked engine) in street trim with redwall tyres almost pulled the left front of the deck. Clevo's are strong.
George, not sure about the .030 bit, i bet there are thousands of clevo's running around with more than that. I wouldnt go to .060 though. Henry, no police car used nitro mate, i guarentee you that, possibly nitrous is what you mean? even that, i doubt very much.
Anyway, for a hot rod, just put a flat top piston, a motorsport cam, either the small one or the large one, a good manifild and a 750 holley, a good timing chain, say a cloyes, a mellings oil pump and your done.

You are so un-traditional!! I can't believe this is even a question on a TRADITIONAL car message board. Pull out the muscle car motor and run a Hemi, Olds Rocket, Nailhead, Flathead, or Cad. Jeez you people are streetrodders. And this guy with a 350 chevy? Ya you and the rest of the world.

It looked like they were running nitrous when the XD interceptor came up behind you at 170+kph!;):(. When they were taken out of service a neighbour bought one from that place in Sydney that used to advertise ex govt. cars. Browns, i think around rockdale?.I am sure his son still has it.

The 2 barel heads with a good aftermarket 4 barrel intake will get up and go. It has 2.06 intake and 1.65 exh. vaves--just right for the street. I had a friend running a 351 C in his drag T switch from the 4 barrel heads to the 2 barrel heads to slow down. So he wouldn't need to be lic. to run at the div bracket race. Instead he went .3 quicker! The two barrel heads are offen overlooked but are realy just right for the street and with the low compression they run better on pump gas too.

Most Aussies rebuild the 2V heads with the 4V exhaust valves (its so common that most rebuild companies dont even mention it!), then use an aftermarket intake manifold

Quite right, my bad! Nitrous was tried out, but a whole heap of back peddling occurred when they couldn't get around the legal issues.
It was definitely proposed but I have also had it vigorously denied that it ever made it to the street. This completely contradicts what I have seen with my own eyes!!!
This aint a good sign! 3rd post and I'm already getting into trouble:(
I wouldn't doubt that for a second! It's just that from my personal experience with the Windsors/Clevos/Clevors, I found that I could get the Windsor bottom end to spin up there quicker with less work on them.
358(ish) is what you get from this mix prior to an over bore.
.040 is the last over bore, before I start looking for another block.
