I'd like to join you guys next time you get together. I live in Tinley Park & would love to talk cars over the long winter. Jack
WTF. Its a conspiracy I tell you. @#%%^&%!(&^. You dont love me anymore. Out of town one Saturday and look what happens. Sorry that I couldn't answer sooner . I couldnt get the PDA to reply on the site . Any help from the younger crowd on this issue would be appreciated. It's good to hear there was a great turnout . Thanks to all who showed up. Will see you all next week
What a wonderful time I had this past Saturday morning. I really enjoyed meeting all of youse guys at Chucks! The food was great and the HAMB talk and new friendships even greater. I'll be looking forward to many more.... Joel
like to join you Saturday. I will be coming in from Crown Point IN. You guys are about 1 hour away but I really need a H.A.M.B. fix between the hollydays.
Our "fearless leader"(palosfv3) returned from Phoenix this week and was greeted by a few new faces. He got to meet tiger mark and diamond49 (their 2nd week at Chuck's)) as well as blktie, jim32 and stu d baker. blktie has a '32 roadster and works for a Mopar dealership, stu is a fellow member of Vintage Tin and has a '37 slantback and Jim32 recently moved back to Crown Point, IN from Salt Lake City. Jim (whose first post on the HAMB was to tell us he was coming to breakfast) bought pics of his '32 5w and Merc on the salt and we plan on hearing a lot more of his salt adventures in the coming weeks. On the left(front to back): diamond49, blktie, palosfv3 - on the right: tiger mark, Jim32, stu d baker, oldbobsign
I saw one of you guys pulling up yesterday morning....I was sitting at the light with a car trailer....sorry I had other things to attend to...
It was a great time with good company and I can see the future will be an excellent learning opportunity. Breakfast fantastic as well. Looking forward to more good times! Thanks for a good time! Jack
I think a once a month meeting would be fun.Breakfast in the winter sounds good, but 7am, man thats early. How about meeting at cruise nights during the summer.Seeing that most of us are close, we could rotate locations, Lemont, Frankfort, etc. No lack of cruise nights around here.
We've purposely set an early time on Saturday so we could sneak out of the house before the wife wakes up. This way we could spend the day on Hot Rods instead of home maintenance. These Saturday mornings breakfasts are a relatively new thing for us and we welcome all HAMBER's . How these meetings will evolve is up for grabs. We appear to be close to having a nucleus of people that will help to make this a great event that goes well beyond what happens at the local cruise nites.
Sounds like we all had the same great experiance Saturday morning. I thank you all for making my week. Your right Larry this is not a cruse nite its much more! To sit at a table and share a brakefast and thoughts with good people is special. 7AM is fine too, even for those of us who must leave the garage at 5:30AM (if it don't take any effort it not worth doing). It was nice to see Mark and his Lady driving their ride on a cold Chicago morning (windows?! we don't need no stinking windows!) Thanks for the shop tour Larry, after all these years building cars there is still so much we can learn from one another. Jim
What about different people hosting one HAMB & Eggs each month at their favorite breakfast spot? We do that with Dinner With The Apes each month. Move it around, try new places. I try to keep a happy medium between driving distance and parking.
Kevin: That sounds like a great idea to me. I'm going to mention that at the next HAMB & Eggs I go to. Stu
You know, if it keeps up at this pace, we will be able to take over all the tables there and possibly spill out into the street. we can and will show those west coast guys that the south west side of chi-town is the heart of hot rodding.ha ha. see you all on saturday. mitch!
i might make it. i'll see if the vicodin allows me to sleep tonight. i fell off the work truck wednesday. can't lift my right arm. probably tore my rotator cuff. won't know for sure until my mri next week.
Who will be brave enough to roll their hot rod to breakfast on the salt laiden streets of the south side?(besides oldbobsign, of course) i know it will not be I ,for it is burried behind a pile of parts, to make room to finish mini me's minibike. mike
Sounds like there's going to be quite a crowd at Chuck's in the morning. Could we exceed last weeks turnout ???? Any sleepyheads need a wake up call ?
