Safe Blocks??

    How much of a lowering block is to much to be safe??

    Its not only the block, but the long u bolts too. Use a good quality block from a suspension co. like Bell Tec or DJM, with the angle in it for pinion correction.I think that anything over 4". The best result is to purchase springs. That's my .02 worth.
     
  3. I've had 4" in a couple cars, including my 36 Ford. I'm not saying I recommend it, but I wouldn't do any road racing

    Yep, it's not a good idea to go so low that the u bolt nuts or lowest part goes below the rim, and it's illegal in most states to have something lower to the ground than the rim. De arching your springs is a better way.

    A lowering block taller than the tire would be unsafe, but look cool...

    Ya, otherwise you can get beached in a pothole at the local Dunkin Donuts. I hit it perfectly so the tire fell in the hole and the U-bolts stayed street level. Looks real coolt tryin to Jack your car up and drive it off the jack especially when the tire in question was the drive wheel on an open rear. I had 4" in there, I've since switched to 2" and removed a few leaves.
