That cant be a cl***ic photo. The cars too close to the ground. Everyone knows thats a modern thing...
Not only appears to be Ray Brown's car... that's Ray Brown on the left. And the shoebox convert in the background appears to be a '50.
Royalshifter, thank you for posting this pic. Car is Ray Brown's T. Pic most likely taken at Bonneville in 1950. Ray had number 19a for '50. In 1951 I believe Ray ran a Bellytank at Bonneville.
A detail that doesn't matter... but my eye went right to it. The Back window in the shoebox convert has been unzipped. Must of been hot on the salt that day!
I'll join in...I have posted this before, but here is a picture of my grandfather at Bonneville in 1950, the first year I believe. That 3 window is still around today.
Thank you. I have several others that I am starting to scan as well. I didn't mean to crash your thread
I figured you came across somthing as you have been posting some *****en vintage pics, and you ain't old enough to have been there. Please keep them coming Gus
Hey Royal, We should be callin' you Royalcoolstuffshifter 'cause everything that you come up with is cool stuff. rodncustom, Crash the thread some more...Thanks,Smokey
The first year for Bonneville Speedweek was 1949 - that's why the guys who attended the first one are called "49ers". And the 50th Anniversary race was 1998.
