well the chassis built and now we finished the roll cage today, ready to start doing fuel cell, battery brake pedal etc. im liking it so far. oh yea its a 53 willys aero lark. will be a 468 bbc eng with a turbo 400 trans and a 9 inch with a detroit locker and a 373 gear, should be a ten second car , look out gasser racers here we come again .....
Always dug those Willys, there were two built here in the 60s, one red one blue. The blue one is still out on the street every so often.
Dont look like a gasser to me accept the axle . Looks more like a promod with all that tubing !!! Looks good...
since it was a uni body and you could walk through the floor i had to do a frame for it and that is how much cage is required to run it ...should be a fun little car Im thinkin .......
Very cool. I'm digging that body - certainly not something you see very often, especially as a gasser! Keep the updates comin'.... Malcolm
well it worked out with a 10 percent set back and a crank centerline of 18 inches so pretty much so,.................................
It requires two people to bend that industrial strength tubing that's in the car. Works good though, or I think so.
yesterday we got the front sheet metal mounted with nice brackets of tubing off the cage to hold it all on and be easy to remove at the track. also the fuel cell mts, and batter tray mt , ready to floor in that area. thanks f1 for the help on the cage work , sw
Sam, you guys have power now? You need to thank Billy for buying the OG& E guys dinner..........seriously. He has no shame.....
