So today at my lovely job at the dealership, the registry cop and a state trooper stopped by to "check up" on us. They roamed the parking lot looking to catch something, and whos vehicle do they pick out of the hundreds out there but mine. My daily driver is a 94 Ranger, nothing fancy, but its lowered and they picked up on it. Ive got a good feeling they'll be back to check and see if ive fixed it cuz im due for an inspection this month. Sometimes i wish i lived in a state where they allow you to lower more than a whopping two inches! Sometimes you just can win :(

There has been a ton of problems out in Western MA with the Staties lately. IF someone does give you are hard time, make sure to get his name and badge # as I know soemone out there working with the troopers right now on the exhaust bill.

MY 56 is lowered more than 2 inches (but not by much...LOL) I would suggest airbagging it if you want to go lower and not get shit about it,

God forbid that your hard earned tax money goes to things like actual crime fighting. I've said for years that I like police officers but I hate the way the system is set up. It's armed tax collection. I wish there was as much revenue to be generated in actual crime fighting as there was with making a few bucks off of a law abiding citizen who makes a harmless infraction of an already silly law. Sometimes it leads to an actual arrest like a dead hooker in the trunk and that's nice but mostly it's just about money and sustaining a department. I hate that. I'll bet the officers do to. I think we'd all like to see them skinning a child molester on the clock instead.

Sorry for the rant.

Yeah, this state is nuts. I've got a Jeep that's a spring-over, on 35s. Certainly not the biggest on the road, by any means, but I can't get an inspection sticker. Everyone tells me its too big, but I think it's just that they're lazy, and don't want to go through the motions of strapping it to the emissions dyno to do the emissions testing. It's between 84-96 and needs to go on the dyno. They'd rather just plug the newer vehicles in and test them. Lazy fucks.

I see these monster-freaking trucks on the road, but I can't get a sticker for my jeep. :| And I barely drive it on the road - it goes from the trailer to the trailhead, and back, for the most part.

Fucking ridiculous.

In the town where I live in upstate NY the police employ an auxilliary force to cruise the parking lots of the local grocery stores, malls, shopping plazas, etc. to see if there are any "violations". The violators are then given tickets! Of course, depending on the severity of the ticket, a fine is attached and because this is "Tax them to they die, and then tax their relatives NY" there is a tax added to the fine!!! Freaking nearly a communist state fer Crissakes.

6. It's a shame that Ma used to be the cradle of American democracy and the caretaker of morality. How many things were once "banned in Boston"? Now its the great gay state and the only thing banned is saying anything against its moral and ethical decline.

So what do they do if a tourist is passing through with a heavily modified vehicle? Will they ticket the hell out of them? Would this apply in any state that has laws against vehicle modification? It'd piss me off on vacation to get shookdown in a parking lot for my choice in ride....

I'd rather drive ape-shit wild in the biggest piece of shit in the world than take my chances with Ted Kenedy at the wheel driving over a bridge. Drunk-ass dick head

heres what you do...
You find a group of 15-20 high school age kids and start buying them tons of beer, and feeding the uppers.
they will eventually start a crime wave and the cops will focus their energy and time on them.
you will not be bothered for petty infractions.
B/c
the police will be too busy rounding up the hooligans.

I saw a cool ass bumper sticker the other day. It said "I'd rather go bird hunting with Dick Caney than go for a sunday ride with Ted Kennedy"

24. that's why i only sell my drugs out of an old mavrick.

seriously.. i love kansas.. I can't imagine all the emissions testing and all that crap you guys go through.

25. If you can find 15-20 high school age kids that aren't already guzzling beer and dealing uppers, you're doing good. They have no inclination to start a crime wave;they have their flunkies to do that.

Better idea to corral all the cops in one place:Start phoning in bomb threats to all the Dunkin' Donut shops around your area;that'll keep 'em off the streets!:D

You know that the safest neighborhoods in Massachusetts are the ones with the most Dunkin' Donuts stores.:D

I'm glad I don't live there anymore. No yearly bribe-the-inspection station-for-a-sticker ritual. No more highways-masquerading-as-parking-lots.But I'm REALLY thankful for no more BARNEY FRANK,the Chappaquiddick Troll,Marty Meehan, and the rest of the Beacon Hill Thugs.

Politics;(n.) from the two words,"Poli" meaning multiple and "tics" meaning tiny bloodsucking insects.

Yall come on down to Alabama. We got tornados to clean everything up. Single car tags, no inspections, no title issues and humidity.
I only get pulled over when I'm driving 10 or 20 or 30 miles over the speed limit in the 46, damned overdrive transmission.

All I can say is "Thank God for Texas"!
Antique tags for your car that's over 30 years old, good for 7 years without a yearly renewal, and NO inspection for cars so equipped.
Oh yeah, and cold LoneStar Beer, nectar of the Gods!

Shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anybody.......................................................

We here in Connecticut have the 4Cs or the Connecticut Council of Car Clubs.... Over thirty four years ago the Connecticut Council of Car Clubs (4Cs) was established. Since 1973, the 4Cs has effectively monitored legislative proposals, informed member clubs, and acted in the best interest of antique, classic and special interest car hobbyists ... www.ctccc.net ... do you guys have anything like that up there like that. Maybe you can start something like the 4Cs. good luck
