There is a guy named kevin at www.originalauto.com that will probably buy some, if not all of it for a reasonable fee.

Wow, what great stuff. I would have been all over it as well. I can't believe no one else was even bidding against you.

Please let me know when you sell the mini seats. I have a nephew and niece who both have 'hot rods' they would go great in!

The first batch of stuff should be in the cl***ifieds VERY soon. I just need to get organized.

The bummer about the seat covers is that most ARE NOT marked as to what they fit. We were told that there was a book to reference, but it never turned up. We spent hours laying out and measuring the first 50 sets. They will be a bit of a **** shoot for people, but we'll make them cheap so that the gamble isn't that bad.

It's great that it went to someone that will see they get used. PM sent.

They range from about 18" wide to about 36". Most are really heavy-duty cardboard or masonite with a small amount of padding. Most even have a sticker on the bottom telling about how much kids love to have them and how you (the upholstery shop) should donate them to churches and schools.

You can see my rear tire in the background. That's a 16" wheel.

This is one of the smallest ones. I'd guess about 18" across.

Dirty called me the morning of the auction and I went down to meet him and KIRK. It was just like they said, tons of cool **** and not many guys to bid on it. Once I saw all this going for pennies on the dollar, I though "Hey, I should stick around and bid on this stuff too!", but when your buddies are already there, and you have the exact same taste as they do, it doesn't make much sense to bid against your friends and drive the prices up!

I'm so glad they got this stuff-- You can bet most of the unsold stuff would have ended up in the dumpster.

Save a midget seat for me boys!!

    :D

No, but I took it home with me.....in my mind? We also found some fat chick **** under some of our convertible top boxes. We left it displayed for the next viewer.

    KIRK,
Did any of the cars sell? I went by this morning and they were hauling some of the cars to the Auction house’s warehouse. They still had a lot of material left, and need to be out of the building by the end of the month.

I left this part out of the story, but only one. The running, driving, flathead-powered two-door sedan shoebox with a new paint job and interior sold for $2700.

The rest didn't sell. They didn't meet the reserves of: Running 4-door shoebox $2000, running 4-door '52 Merc, nice '79 Rolls Royce $6000, Pink '59 Lincoln (cherry) $4000 and more.

It's just the one in Oakland. The one in San Leandro is still around.

We only knew on Thursday. Like I said, we figured there would be tons of people there. We thought we were the last to know.

  29. King Cover is out of business? I guess it was time to retire and get out. That area used to be a great automotive ghetto but it's getting redeveloped.

  30. There was a post on here a week or so ago...looked like there were some industrial sewing machines and various tools too.

Kirk!...I'm interested in a couple sets of the those seatbelts. Please let us know when the ad gets posted.
