I found this in an old salvage/junk yard. Kinda hoping someone knows about the lettering on the side, any history. Also hoping to find some parts for it.

How about I just state the obvious..... it's the back half of a '28 roadster. Finding the front half (and sub floor) shouldn't be too tough.

I wasn't sure of the year. I was looking at a 28-29 and 30 coupe while I was at the yard. Looked more like the 30 rear of the coupe. But if your sure thats cool too..... Thanks.....

Very possibly a track roadster from the Granatelli Hurricane era given its Chicago area roots.

As a fan of vintage lettering I can tell you that the style of lettering would place it in the 40's.
On modern lettering the center horizontal crosses in a letter are higher up.
In lettering before the 50's the crosses are about midway.
Actually the lettering has a bit of a deco feel which might even place it in the 30's.
    Guess I'm stating the obvious.
    Oh well.

From Berwyn? No ****. That's cool.

FoMoCo, look around Maple street, one block east of Harlem. That's where the number falls.

Could have raced at Santa Fe Speedway (dirt track) when it was really hopping back then.

theres a machine shop on the south side of the street in about that location now. i think it has redish/ blue neon in the windows. this address would have been smack dab in the middle of this summers route 66 car show.

wow great find! I am originally from berwyn when I was a kid you could go up and down ogden and build a car with all the diffrnt shops it was really cool [possably why I'm into cars ] their was several custom body shops [and bike shops] upholstery, motor builders a speed shop and practically every gas station had a drag car they rolled in and out everyday. as well as a few cruise stops. this was the early 70s and it was all about to change.
