I have replaced the stock manifold with a 4x1 setup. I have the factory dual point distributor in and I need to hook up the vacuum advance. I forgot where the original was plumbed. Do I go directly to the manifold vacuum? Technically, many people don't use it, but I thought if I hooked it up I want it right at least. 331 chrysler hemi is probably the same. Who can set me straight? My 55 desoto shop manual doesn't really say. Thanks, Kurt

The vacuum advance on my '55 Chrysler 331 goes into a vacuum port on the base of the original WCFB. It uses an 1/8" hardline connection screwed at both distributor and carb. Hope that helps.

My Wieand 4x2 has NO vac port under the #2 carb?

Did you buy that home made manifold that was on here for sale ?
Maybe you could drill & tap in a port..

Those 1bbl carbs dont have a port in the base ? What carbs ya got on there ?

I have the 4x2 Wieand, but purchased offenhauser carb adapters from vintage speed to mount early 216 1 bbl rochester carbs. I picked the 216 carbs for the smaller bore thinking when I run the 2 middle carbs, things would be just right. The outside carbs will kick in when I pedal it to the floor. Linkage is nearly finished. My manifold doesn't have any port under the number 2 port. Someone did drill a port into one runner that I used to tap into for the vacuum advance. The air cleaners were purchased from vintage speed, but I had to make new bases to fit the carbs. I have a buddy that has a cnc machine. Also, it's tough finding nice air cleaners for the 4x2 because the center distance is so close between carbs. I think these look pretty good:) . Thanks for any advice and if you have any questions:rolleyes: let me know-boner
