It's funny that everyone still refers to the wachowski's as brothers, one of them had a *** change and is a woman now. even on the speedracer website they refer to them as the "Wachowski Bros."

The Mach 5 is a Jap car

Mike Mercury and Super Car.....Super Car, with beauty and grace as swift as could be. Watch it flying through the air. It travels in space and under the sea and it can journey anywhere.....

    YAY! Chim Chim and Spritle!
I remember they would always stow away in the trunk....every episode... i mean, after the second time don't you think you'd check the trunk before you leave?

    can't wait to see it!!!

    Wow - 2 fantasies in 1 saucy little package... I can't wait!

I'm 38 (well, 39 in 2 weeks) and I loved Speed Racer. My little brother and I would pretend to be Speed and Racer X. Now my 3 year old wants me to pretend to be Pops and he's Speed.

These days I'm more of a fan of Sparky.

In some of the Speed Racer cartoons, women got slapped and were almost always in a submissive role. I hope political correctness doesn't rear it's ugly head. One of my all time remembered lines from the show: "Trixie, you can't drive the Mach 5, you're a girl!" Man, times have changed.

Should be a good show, if they stick to the series, but they can't and probably won't. They'll still get my $10 to see it. How do you not go see a movie about a kid driving a 200 MPH race car on the street?

Christina Ricci as Trixie? No way.

5y.o. Choptop had a crush on Trixie, and she looks nothing like Christina Ricci.

on the other hand, I had a girlfriend in college that looked JUST like the cartoon Trixie....

I checked that fantasy off the list. :D

Thanks Muttley! I'd totally forgotten what Tom Slick was. I was a total kiddie crack addict for that show. I never thought I'd say "thank God for You Tube". Ahh, the 70's, when we just didn't know any better.
