pics from our first Turkey Run..... had a blast. Started out the day with snow on the ground. Had about 18 cars and cruzin the countryside. Had to stop for the deer, pheasants, and yes... even turkeys! Ended the day with a big bon fire and shop party.
Some very cool hot rodding pics (pun intended), it looks like ya'll had a great time doing what the cars were built for... driving them.
sorry if we pissed off anyone using the turkey run term, it was a neat deal we dreamed up, didn't realize its a "patented" term.It was a great time had by all and we plan on doing it every year, so this is a problem with someone out side of kansas ? Whats up with this ?
Not that the trademark statement was meant as a pissed off post ,it was FYI . We are also trademarked as Turkey Rod Run ,and we are known as a national event . Being from the mid west you may not have known this.
WOW low blow. Maybe you guys should call it the Real America Turkey Run! Anyway, thanks for the pics. Looked like a great time.
It was a great time, the 130 mile drive through the country side was magnificent, got back to the shop at 5:30 , already had the bon fire going, had enough food to feed an army , probably 50-60 folks at the party, Can't wait till next year !
Thats the big difference, 130 mile drive verses sitting at a car show. Call it 2nd Annural Turkey Cruise, or Turkey Reliability Run. Driving beats a show everyday. J.
This is one of the reasons why I love the HAMB... Showing kool pictures and some one gets upset over a trademark.... Who needs reality TV when you have the HAMB. I don't know about you but I hate turkey!! So next year I woud call it "No Turkey's Rod Run." Has a lot more meaning and you won't ruffle the Turkeys featers..... Now thats funny. I already got my room reservations for next year. Great Job Jack!!! Sorry I couldn't make it but I'll be there next year. Happy Trails, Mick
Next time, call it the "Hunnert Turkey Proof Roundup Revival" and try to offend even more people. Any name, or no name, it looks like a bunch of good people having a good time.. wish i was there! -Jeff
So you call it the Turkey Run, cool. Even with the one in Florida (that I happen to enjoy every other year or so), as long as you don't try to steal their busines or copy their trade mark, or try to p*** yourselves off as that event, I say use what you want. Your's is a local event that might grow, but will likely take years and years to get to be anywhere near compe***ive with the Floriida event. As nice as your event was and will be, I can't imagine anyone giving up going to Florida to go to Kansas! Not in November. If you worry about, rename it the Kansas Turkey Run or the Dust Bowl Turkey Run or whatever. PS: I always like the one in Florida when it was called the Turkey Rod Run, although Turkey Run is okay too .
who cares what those floridians think they don't know that this turkey run is not a show but an actual cruise along some of the same creeks, river roads, and highways where you see wild turkeys. Not some car shows invented name where they have probably never seen a live turkey in their life.
Simple, "Turkey Run not in Florida". I wouldn't be too concerned I mean alot of them down there can't figure out how to vote.
